Good luck! I hope you find a good fit. Isn't it curious to compare rush at different schools, I went to school in Washington too and we had a similar style- lots of shorts, flip flops, very relaxed. Well, anyway, enjoy it! Oh, and I'm cheering for any of the Cohens!

Rush tends to be more relaxed in Washington, I definitely like that. Good luck with the rest of your week!

I would be ever grateful to anyone that can list out the chapters that are actually at WSU.

gogoaphi, For reasons of tact in this particular situation, it's probably best for me to to give you addresses of official Washington State U. pages --

Panhellenic Council groups (mostly NPC):

NPHC:

Latina (and Latino):

"Special Circumstances" information (this is the "tact" issue):

Or, pretty obviously, go to

and use various links to explore.

Ceres is an International Woman's Agricultural Fraternity. However, membership is open to women outside of Agricultural or Natural Resources majors. My understanding is that they have been influenced by Farmhouse Fraternity.

Ceres International

Please don't beg PNMs for updates :( they may either just be super busy or maybe rush isn't going well for them and they don't want to post.

Ditto times one hundred. These PNMs are providing us with a COURTESY. They don't have to give us a rush story if they don't want to, and they don't have to provide us with an update if they don't want to.

I'm sure if I just went through rounds of parties with all those houses...the last thing on my mind would be to go online and provide a detailed play by play of what went on. I'd go to sleep and update when I felt like it.

amgn253 08-18-2005 08:26 AM

I apologize. I was just interested in her story.

Sorry about all the delays guys! My internet in my room wasn't up today and I've been too busy to get to the computer lab recently.

So here's how it all went down...

There were 552 girls rushing, so cuts were pretty harsh all around. Two of the houses are also relatively small, and girls who cut them still kept getting sent back to them.

House Tours Day I went back to Marissa, Summer, Seth, Caleb and Luke. Only 5, when there was a maximum of 9. I really really liked Summer that day, but for some reason I got cut. Oh well, everything happens for a reason.

Philanthropy Day I got invited back to all except for Summer and I had an awesome time. It was really a day to open up and have fun with the women in the houses. That day my favorites were Caleb and Seth. I knew I really didn't fit with Marissa and Luke, but I kept getting sent back anyway.

Preference Day I went back to Marissa, Luke and Seth. Yes, I got cut from Caleb, which made me sad because I thought that I'd had a great time and really meshed with the girls in there. I made the decision that if I didn't get into Seth I wasn't going to pledge. I just really didn't fit with the other 2 chapters. Going in there and trying to have conversations with the girls was just very awkward for me. I really liked Seth though and really felt like I would fit in well there.

Bid Day!!! Well, it finally came, and we all went and had breakfast together and were initiated into Panhellenic. We received our Bid Cards, but we had to sit on them through everything. Then we got to find out which houses the PAN officers and the Rho Gams belonged to. That was really cool. I was completely prepared to just drop out of recruitment...afterall, my favorite houses had cut me the other two times, why wouldn't that happen again today? Well, I opened my Bid Card, and....SETH!!!! One of the girls from my Rho Gamma group got in there too, which was really awesome.

OK, everyone ready and anxious to know what house I'm in???
Thought so. Say hello to one of WSU's newest Alpha Phis!!!!!!!

The girls are all fabulous. After going to back to the house we all loaded into cars and took off for a waterpark in Moscow, ID. Saturday is our raft trip, and two weeks after that we're going to an amusement park. It's so great! Tonight is our first new member meeting!
