This sounds fabulous! I'll be looking for it today....
Yeah, I can't really loan you mine b/c I totally destroy books by reading them at the beach. Sand, lotion, bending...

Yes, I too am a Buyer! :D ;)

PS - the book really was FABULOUS!! I'm not a 'geeky' book reader, either - This book isn't a geeky, boring book!

I admit that one of the other reasons I don't care to use the library that much - at least the local one - is I really don't like to be pigeon-holed into liking just one genre. It REALLY irks me when I walk in, and the librarian immediately says something like, "there's a new book on the Holocaust in for you!" If she even said, "Be sure to check the new books," it would be different.

The weird part is that I give lectures there a couple times a year!

For those of you who read "The Devil Wears Prada"-are there REALLY people out there like that boss? I truly find that hard to believe, even though it must be (or am I REALLY sheltered?)

polarpi, if you're reading the Beverly Lewis Covenant series, the last book is finally out! :) I finished it the other day.

I was so confused for a second....I was doing a search on Princess Diaries and found a "Recommended Books" thread we did back in 2004!!

My question was going to apply to that thread...but I decided to put it in this one....

Jennie, did you like the Princess Diaries books? Did you read the 1/2 books (4 1/2 and 6 1/2)? When you bought them, did you buy the originals or the ones with the adult cover (The Highs and Lows of Mia, etc)????

If you like the Sophia Kinsella "shopaholic" books, you'd also like the "Slightly" series by Wendy Markham. There is Slightly Single and Slightly Settled. Very good reads! Wendy's Mike Mike & Me is also very good. I'm a big fan of the fun girly books! They make me laugh! :D

I think the last one I bought was the 4 1/2 book (I'd have to check my list at home when I get back next Thursday), and I got them all in paperback - I don't remember any of them saying "The Highs and Low of Mia"

I'll be the first to admit that I'm one of those "I go nowhere without a book within reach" people, and often don't even remember the title if it's sheer fluff, but I'm reading a great book by Linda Fairstein right now: Entombed. There's a lot of good (and scary!!) Poe references, and frankly, I'm learning a lot about Poe! I didn't know that he lived longer in the Bronx than anywhere else, for starters - in fact, I somewhat doubt it...

I can't believe I missed this post earlier! :o

I haven't read that series before - right now I'm reading Catherine Coulter's FBI series - it's really good! I also have a couple of other books waiting in the queue to be read! :D
