what happened last night? i was in vegas and at a show so i am totally in the dark as to what happened last night?

Appearantly they will be bringing back all major characters from past seasons to be in the final episodes!!! If that's true, that will be very exciting :)

well, we finally found out that matt santos has indeed been elected president. they were leading up to it all season, but i'm glad it actually panned out. oddly enough, they made vinnick into a character and candidate i actually liked - it's the people around him that were cunning and deceitful, he was actually a pretty stand-up guy for the most part.

they handled the leo/john spencer issue pretty well, next week should be sad. i can't wait for the episode when Rob Lowe returns!

I know, crazy that a Republican could be a nice, stand-up guy...

Anyway, last night was good, my guess is that Sam (Rob Lowe) comes back as the VP.

That would be the obvious thing...so they'll probably do something else.

Last night was a really good episode. It's too bad the show is going away.

True...I thought Rob Lowe was great on the show (Sam was one of my favorite characters), so it would be neat to see him come back as VP.

Of course, you're probably right, and they'll do something like choose C.J.

Last night's episode was pretty good (not as good as the first election one, in my opinion), but I'm not sure I'll watch next week. I've had enough funerals in the past year, I'm not sure I want to sit for an hour and watch one played out on TV.

DeltAlum 04-10-2006 10:39 AM

We'll watch next week.

That show is generally so well directed, written and shot that I think (hope) it will be exceptionally well done.

Ok so here's something interesting that I read on an entertainment blog. They think Santos is going to ask Vinick to be his VP. The other person they think is Nancy McNally. How do you all feel about those choices?

Vinick sounds like something they would do, although I hope they don't. It would be a bit over the top to have it as some sort of "Let's come together for the good of the country" type thing.

I never really thought of McNally, but they could really go all out having a first woman VP to go with a first Latino president.

Sam was probably my favorite character on the early years, so I'm hoping it will be him, but who knows.

SmartBlondeGPhB 04-11-2006 01:23 PM

I found CJ's inferences to the 22 amendment (I think that's the one with Presidential term limits) interesting......

I got the feeling she was insinuating that Bartlett could come back as the VP.

Due to what happened in the beginning of the very first episode of the season I would say no to anyone currently in the Bartlett Admin being named VP......

And if the VP candidate has to be "approved" by Congress, it won't be a Republican either.

SmartBlondeGPhB 04-11-2006 01:24 PM

But it doesn't really matter anyway since the show's ending......:D

I consider myself a west wing die hard junkie and a total josh / donna shipper. I truly think once Sorkin left it went down , but Wells pulled it through. However, the powers that be at NBC screwed everything up by pre empting it for everything , not ordering more epsodes , and just moving it all around in time slots. i am very upset by the ending of this show.

I think McNally will be VP ,and Vinnick Sec of State. Rob Lowe does become Josh Deputy to his COS ( chief of staff).

I have been on every west wing f yahoo board there is and the opinions of how it goes down ( the ending) is rather interesting
I WANT DONNA AND JOSH SOMETHING GOOD........7 yrs i deserve that much

All i know is i am buying all the dvd seasons

HI There,

In the last week or two, my local newspaper, the Daily Breeze, ran an article in its entertainment section that said that originally Vinnick was supposed to win the election. After John Spencer died and the writers were writing his death in to the show they decided to change who won. Their reasoning was that with the series ending so close they didn't want to upset the viewers by having Matt Santos lose the election and then find out that Leo died in the same episode. I wish I could remember what day the article ran so I could post it here.

I think Santos is going to choose Vinnick to be his VP. Josh will be his Chief of Staff and Donna his Press Secretary.

Carolyn

cutiepatootie 04-16-2006 02:37 AM

Donna i believe will be Helen Santos Chief of staff and i say this because
1. how can those two continue a relationship ( D/J) as josh as her boss? He was her boss for 7 yrs and it ate them both alive to not be able to really express their true feelings for one another unless they are equals in position of authority.

2. in a previous episode the one about what Helen was wearing ,and the bed breaking, Helen and Donna were in the back yard of the Santos house and Donna saying she would like to help her define what kind of 1st lady she would be.

3. Annabeth , i believe will be made press secretary. Recall how she was brought on board and shaping Toby to handle press once CJ moved up to COS. Plus, Kristin Chenowith( I think that is how you spell her name) has a knock killer voice!

In the season opener .....at the Bartlet library
you dont see Leo, you dont see Donna, you get Josh informing them they are all arriving. if Santos didn't win then Leo and Donna and Josh would be in the foyer of the library with everyone else.

Now that Rob is going to be Josh's deputy, Josh will need an assistant to what Donna did all that time. I say make Margret Josh's asst....she was leo's as COS and was Cj's so she would be te one i would think IF IF IF Donna take on an authority position.

NAAAAAAAAH i am not addicted to this show and NAAAAAA i am not going to be completely lost with out it once it ends.

I am following my Josh over to ABC to a sit com that Aaron Sorkin and Tommy Schlamme created with Brad Whitford and Matt Perry

Have you heard her sing? She was the original Glinda in Wicked on Broadway, and won a Tony for You're a good man, Charlie Brown.

Anybody think there's a chance CJ will be VP?
