One of the new recruits, Ashleigh Painter, was recently named Miss UAFS.

Again, congratulations.

That's awesome...

I just read the article and noticed that there's a new G Phi B member from California at UAFS ("Banning, Calif.: Samantha Johnson, Gamma Phi Beta."), she's from 30 minutes away from my mom's house. :-)

We are presenting TODAY to become the 11th sorority at TCU! Yesterday, Fort Worth area alums met with our International President to discuss what will be involved if we are chosen. We are the last to present (Delta Zeta and Alpha Phi have already done theirs) and I think we have a very good chance. We had about 40 people at the meeting, which I think is a great turn-out.

I saw that in another thread. That is VERY cool for both a potential new collegiate chapter AND an ability to add excitement to an alumnae chapter.:D

I was thinking the same thing! Very cute!

Is Gamma Phi making a special effort to expand more in the south? I notice that a lot of our newer chapters seem to be in that region. (TAMU, USC, Texas-Tyler, UAFS)

Sorry to crash! I wanted to add that Gamma Phi also has a new chapter (Zeta Tau) at Emory University in Atlanta. Congrats!! They are very nice girls.

Oops, yes, we do. I hear they've done well!

Fingers are crossed for TCU!

Alumnae Chapter/Crescent Circle Potential Expansions

It just dawned on me that I should include these expansions as well. They aren't as exciting but they are important for us. :D

We are actively pursuing:

Asheville, NC
Paris, TN
Chattanooga, TN
Ottawa, ON
Pocatello, ID
Ft Smith, AR
NW AR
Miami, FL
Macon, GA
Modesto, CA
Portland, ME
Bowling Green, OH (we are looking for a leader if you know anyone)
Ft Walton Beach, FL

And other areas as well that aren't quite as active.

We are always looking for more areas if you, or anyone you know, is interested in getting involved. It can be very rewarding. :D

I'm just on pins and needles here. The vote at TCU has been taken, and we could have the official word as early as Friday. You just don't know how badly I want this to happen!! I'll let you know as soon as I hear something.

Pardon the interruption...I just have a *feeling* you'll be selected. Just a hunch! (No "inside" info.) Good luck. :)

Congratulations

Good job, ladies :)

Yea! for expansion possibilities!

I saw that Macon, Ga was listed? Is that Mercer University? I was just at their campus 2 weeks ago looking at the sorority houses there, as our campus is beginning the process of establishing greek housing. The Greek Advisor there was very nice and gave us lots of information about how they did their Greek Village...I understand that they currently have 1 "spare" house available for a new sorority or fraternity in the event of expansion, but in order to colonize and become a recognized organization, you have to agree to have a house on campus...Mercer Univ. is a really nice school.

It's nice to see a list with a number of Southern Cities!!!

I have no idea what school. Alumnae extension is based on alumnae coming forward and expressing interest in forming a group.

Ooops!!!

So Sorry! I didn't read your post carefully and I read the list as cities where schools had expressed interest in expansion...

I'll just put my "Dork of the Day Hat" back on...:)
