Ugh! We were pulling for Ray, but are happy for Jamie Fox.
I'm busily making a list of movies that I want to see now! Has anyone seen Vera Drake, or at least know what it's about? It looks interesting, but I never heard of it before tonight! |
YAY to the local homegirl (Hillary Swank--Bellingham, WA)
YAY to Morgan Freeman (it has been a long time coming) YAY to Clint Wastwood...I always loved him YAY for JAMIE FOXX! He so deserved it |
I don't usually care for Hilary Swank. But, the beginning of her speech made my teary-eyed.
And, did anyone else think Dustin Hoffman was drunk? |

We were totally convinced that he was either very drunk or very high!! |

It really starts at that time to get the entire thing into Prime Time on the East Coast -- which runs from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. That also puts it totally in Prime time in the Central Time Zone, which runs from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. (The fact that it never ends on time notwithstanding) The show begins before Prime Time in both the Mountain and Pacific time zones. |

Beyonce sang 3 out of the 5 songs to reach out to a younger audience because the ratings have been dropping every year.
Also it is believed that she is going after the role of Effie White in the movie version of the musical Dreamgirls. |
Scarlett won for Worst Hair in an Evening.
The new format sucks. I don't are for Chris Rock although there were some entertaining moments. Did not care for the segment that had him interviewing people at the Magic Johnson theatre. He made them look ignorant as a whole when I'm sure there are many people in that theatre who actually saw a worthwhile movie instead of White Chicks. Sean Penn needs to get a sense of humor. Those Jude Law jokes were just that. Jokes. The guy really needs to get the stick out of his ass if he can't laugh about it. Kate Winslet wins my Best Dressed award. She looked great. Minnie Driver only lip-synched her songs in Phantom. She never actually sang any of the words herself b/c she's not a classically trained opera singer. I'm glad Jamie Foxx's speech was modest & humble. There's nothing worse than a speech that is rehearsed & meaningless. His came from the heart. Sorry Clive Owen lost b/c he's HOT but am glad Morgan Freeman finally got the recognition he deserved. Finally, before I step off my high horse, to the jerk-off in the line at Ralph's who kept saying that the only reason Jaime & Morgan won was b/c they were black, he obviously hasn't seen the movies nor is he an educated person. Loser. |

Oops, didn't realized you were talking about the interviews he made. Sorry about that. |

Is Beyonce the only singer in the world? She is really starting to irritate me. She is not all that! |

Minnie Driver did lip-synch the songs in the movie but the song nominated, Learn to be Lonely, was written specifically for the movie and Minnie sang that one. If you have seen the movie you would know that that song played during the credits. ALW had to write an original song for it to be nominated. None of the other songs would have applied for best original song, probably because the show debuted (did I spell that word right?) on Broadway and wasn't specifically written for the "big screen". |
I did actually see the movie but left right as the credits started to roll so I didn't stay to hear it.

It's amazing how you didn't see the movie but you're so happy that Million Dollar Baby won so many awards.

I was happy with the winners, but not with the format. This was the worst Oscars I've seen, and I've been watching for years. I didn't like Chris Rock as host; I didn't like the new format of the nominees being on stage or in the stairwell; and there wasn't a single dress that stood out that I thought was absolutely gorgeous.
