Brother-sister associations
All I can really say to respond is that it is okay for everyone to show greek love, but where I am from we have these deltas doing the que call and throwing up their sign. I say until you make it official, a smile and a hug should suffice.;)

It doesn't really matter to me, either. My undergrad chapter was close to the Alphas and the Kappas, and held events with both. We didn't have Ques on my campus. I think it's all about greek love...period.
So, why is it that every single time this question comes up, we have to be reminded that only the Zetas and Sigmas share a "true" bond? We know that already, and it's not the issue. No one is trying to or can take that away from them. The brother/sister thing took root from a shared history that our respective organizations have. The AKAs and Alphas have a Lyle connection, the Deltas and Ques have a Coleman connection, and the Kappas and SGRhos have an Indiana connection. That's just my $.08! |

NEVER BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE AND HEAR
I am a neo, therefore I am new to the Greek world. I am from Virginia. This is my first time hearing that the Kappas and the Sigma Gamma Rho ladies claim to be affiliated. That is fine if they have their own thing going on, but it is knew too me. I am a ZETA lady, and I always new that we were the only sorority constitutionally bound to a fraternity before I became greek. At the college I attended, it was rumor that DST and the Ques were a brother/sister organization, the Kappas and the AKA's, but never did I hear about the Kappa's and the Sghro's. I have love for all of my greek sisters and brothers.

Ummmm....okay...

First Family (AKA/APhiA) Coleman Love (Delta/Que) Indiana Love (SGRho/KAPsi) All of these bonds have historic and traditional significance. Sigma Gamma Rho did not just get up in 2001 and decide, hey KAPsi and we were both founded in Indiana, let's chill out eighty some odd years later. Those who know their history, know the history. Of course there are other deviations PNG Connection, Golden Love, Canine Love, Pretty Boys, and Pretty Girls, and Crimson and Cream, but there is nothing wrong with showing a little respect or love. Now I do think it is wrong when people go around saying they don't need a constitution. Everybody knows that with the exception of the blue bond, they are not official. Your bond is a beautiful and unique thing, but there is significance in the others. |
SoRHOr you beat me to the punch hole... ;) . I could not have said it better.
