I'm so excited, I'm going out with my tree in a few minutes to buy our family letters! Now there are 8 members in my immediate family tree :)
|
My big sister- was a founding sister of my chapter, and is awesome. She is still a big kid at heat, lol. She got married this past summer and is now working as a nanny.
My 1st little sister- is amazing. She has really turned our chapter around. She is currently the president of the sorority and is doing an amazing job. I love her to death and am so glad that she joined AST. She really is an amazing person and I am constantly in awe of her and how much she takes on to ensure that our chapter will not fail and that we will be around for years to come. My 2nd little sister- is an founding sister of the Epsilon Delta colony of AST. Although, I have never met her, she is very sweet and is excited about being in AST. She is "branching" out of her comfort zone to meet people and I am so proud of her, b/c I know how hard that can be. My grand-little- I met her for the first time last weekend and she is so funny and definetely fits in the family. She is currently the recruitement chair and has some amazing ideas for recruitement. She is dedicated, yet a lot of fun. I love my family. Its amazing to see the family tree grow and grow. |
I have the best family!
My big is the current president of our chapter, epsilon delta. She also a nursing major and keeps straight As. She amazes me. She is able to keep such good grades in a very hard and demanding major, she is in a commited relationship, and she is so active and a very strong leader in phi mu. My little is just as amazing. She is very active in phi mu. She is in the band, a very talented trumpet player, and she has one of the most beautiful singing voices I've ever heard. She is the sweetest person and always has a smile on her face. She is always there for her sisters. |
My family has always been the execs.
Three Presidents in a row. Two vice Presidents in a row and two treasurers in a row. Not bad considering my family rarely takes more than one little bro. |
Continuing to brag about this tree!!

OK, well Dphies00 is MY Big, so I'll just continue the brag with the most recent members! Well, before I get to them, lets talk about my amazing BIG Laura! She was the final deciding factor to me signing that bid on bid night and I knew from Pref Night (even before I knew I HAD a bid) that she was going to be my big sis. Laura was always an integral sister in our chapter and had more passion for the sisterhood than anyone else. As VPRecruitment, she almost single handedly turned everything around for our chapter concerning rush. This wasnt easy for her and like she said, we roomed together her senior year, my sophomore year, and she gave up tons of sleep for DPhiE. She was also the life of the party and is still known for making her rounds during parties ("I'm gonna go take a walk!!") I miss her :-( My little Rayna is my one and only lil, and the only one I'll ever take, I'm sure. We have such a unique relationship, where we are simultaneously best friends but I also have a huge protector role over her. I seriously do anything and everything I can for her like she was my child or something haha. She's the nicest, most intelligent, and ridiculously funny person I know. If we had an class clown type award, it would definitely go to my little every semester. So if Rayna is my child, then her little Alexandra, my little-little, would be my grandchild. And yeah, I act like that to her too. I'm such a doting grandbig, I spent almost as much on her as I did on Rayna's Big/Lil night. Alex is super involved on campus and is one of those people that everyone knows somehow. She takes after her big with the ridiculous sense of humor. Now I even have a GREATgrandlittle, Alisa. I only met Alisa once, but I can definitely tell she will be a great addition (yes, another brunette! We all are Laura, except for Alex, but she's not a natural blonde ;-) Oh, and Shaunna's littles are blonde too, but thats almost another branch at this point) For Dphies00's benefit...you have more family than you thought: Karen Little Rayna Littlelittle Alexandra Littlelittlelittle Alisa Shaunna Little Brittany Little Debbie Littlelittle Melissa and then Rachel's branch: Kristina Little Kathleen Littlelittle Katie |

You can still have a twin in your "Greek" family tree. All that means is her Big took 2 littles at the same time. |
Actually I was part of the colony so I don't have a big. My twin and I are the start of our family.
|
Not even at the same time... if your big had more than one little you were a twin or a triplet. I was a triplet, and I have triplets :) i come from a big greek family tree!
|
I'm also a twin...but we have no big. She disaffiliated :(
I have a little, but our whole family tree is messed up...there are big gaps. We had a few asisters from our family tree leave and I was adopted into another :) |
My family tends to house the leaders of the chapter.
My Grandbig was President the year before I joined and was also very active on campus. Not sure exactly what she does but I know she lives in NJ and has become active with the Rutgers Alum Group. My Big was a leader in the chapter serving as Scholarship while I was there. She is an Audiologist. My Big's Twin was on Panhellenic Council as 1st VP for one semester and then was elected to the Presidency. She was also very involved with other things on campus and even spoke at her graduation ceremony. She is currently a teacher. My Twin was also on Panhellenic for two years as Public Relations and 1st VP. She also served the chapter as Socials, Social Standards, and VP Programming. She held our Rituals position while she did her student teaching. She was wonder woman! She currently teaches at a charter school. I followed the leadership of my Grandbig, Aunt, and my Twin, and got involved in everything. I held VP Member Education as my first office, served on Panhellenic for 1 year as Public Relations and then was elected to the Presidency for the remainder of that year. Ran for DG President but accepted VP Membership which I LOVED and was on Honor Board! Interviewed to be a DG Collegiate Development Consultant last year. Currently I'm a manager at job #1 and I'm also a Substitute Teacher. I'm active in the Akron Alum Group. I had 4 littles, Laura joined as a junior, held an office or two, then went to grad school at American University where she was the Programming Advisor for a year. She still lives near DC and works for the John F Kennedy Center. Meghan and Anne came through during the same time. Meghan was active for a year and then had to transfer to UC which has no DG chapter so she went Alum. Anne held many offices (VP Membership, VP Social Standards, Dir of COB) and is currently still in school. Stacie disaffiliated but still but a lot of effort into the chapter for the two years she was a member. Currently, my grandlittle (meghan's little) is President of the chapter, her little is VP Foundation, and my great great grandlittle is VP Finance. I LOVE MY FAMILY!! :D |
I have a great-great-great grandbig (or something like that) who was a founding sister of our chapter. And like me, featured on the cover of our college alumni magazine :)
My big was there for me during a really rough time my soph. year. She was also the RD of the building when I was a first year RA and I really looked up to her. She had a great artistic ability and always gave the sweetest homemade gifts during the big/little stuff. She brought me my bid the night after I went to a COB event :) We've lost touch, but she will always mean a lot to me. One of my littles...are lives are oddly similar. She was without a doubt meant to be my little. I could not have gotten thru my year being President without her. She was an awesome VP Of Programming with wonderful ideas. Her little was the most dedicated student I have ever seen! Always studying, but knew when to put away the sciece books have have a little fun. She was a great ritual chair! And I was so proud to be part of the ones she was in charge of. My other grand-little was also President of our chapter. She's a fellow Long Island girl and am so glad she joined our chapter! Both my grand-littles have great littles! Those girls are still in school and it's great to see their friendly faces when I go back to Homecoming, etc. When I joined it was just my Big and I and so I get a little misty eyed thinking about how much our tree has grown...I had two littles, one of them had two littles, her little had two....I'm so proud to be in this ZTA Family! |
And what a great idea for my first reply...
My big work for the IHQ for a few years, then moved on to university administration in Texas. And my little just graduated with honors and is working with a major non-profit group in Canada. That being said, I'm the disgrace in the family tree by being an actor, artist and photographer. ;) |
