Kappa Alpha Theta and AOII. Decided not to go fly a kite.

Thanks-same to you! My close friend chose Theta, so I got to know a few of her sisters along the way. But bless her heart, as long as we remained in the dorm, she was the one kiteflyer among the rosebuds, because the rest of us in the bunch were AOIIs.

I prefed AOII and Chi O. I KNEW I wanted AOII though

I preffed both Kappa Alpha Theta and AOII sophomore year after spouting off all the GDI propaganda to my family as a freshman. Ticked them all off, too (I'm a 4th-gen Chi-O legacy), but I didn't care - I found my home.

Delta Zeta and AOII!
|
When I went through recruitment, I was preffed by Delta Zeta and a local group Alpha Delta Omega. I had liked them both but really wanted DZ because it was bigger and was a national group (There were and are only 3 NPC groups on my campus). So I put down DZ first, ADO second.
Come Bid Day I got a bid from ADO. When I saw it my heart sank but the Greek Life Advisor looked at me really hard (almost pleading) and said "Will you accept your bid?" And so I said yes, but I was really in shock that DZ didn't want me. But I shrugged it off and told myself that ADO would be the best thing for me and had fun at the Bid Day party. It turns out that halfway through my freshman year, my big gives me a call and tells me that we're about to become a national group (I wasn't at chapter that day where it was revealed). When the three groups came to give their presentations to our campus we all KNEW that AOII was for us (The others were Alpha Gamma Delta and Gamma Phi Beta, both really great groups). We just knew that were were going to be AOIIs. In fact, one of the presenters whom I talked to later said to me that when they were driving back to Headquarters they knew that we were AOIIs too! So in the end we became the newest AOII colony and now a full-fledged chapter! When I filled out my bid card, I though hard about suiciding Delta Zeta but SO glad I didn't because I would have missed out on AOII or Greek Life in general! :D AOII 'till I die. :) |
Maybe I'm too old (53), or maybe I didn't realize how important a decision it was, but I have no idea which groups I preffed. I have a terrible memory but I do remember my 'big sis' and how much she impressed me, from the beginning. I am thrilled that I became an AOII.
