Well I mean, I'd be amazed if my boyfriend didn't wear pants as well...

IT SAYS NOTHING ABOUT PANTS IN THE BIBLE.

At least that's what he says.

I am making the best typos EVER today.

What I don't understand is why anyone would have sex with someone who they felt was that irresponsible, and so unworthy of trust.

Trust and irresponsibility are completely different. My boyfriend is forgetful...not irresponsible. I trust him 100% when it comes to our relationship. I just don't trust him to remember to take a pill everyday. I think it would be silly of me to say, "I'm not going to be intimate with you because you're kinda forgetful."
Since I'm the one that would be getting pregnant, I'll keep on taking the Pill so that I don't have to worry whether or not he forgot to that day.

Just a thought...

When BC pills are "marketed" to women, the other benefits are stressed as well: clearer skin, etc. Maybe if the BC shot/pill for men had an extra bonus side effect (bigger manhood :D ), they'd take it!?!?!

Personally, the onus should be on the couple, not one member, but hey, it's an age-old arguement that can't be fought, decided, or won on here...

Men in general...NWIH!!

Heh, I love how you always address him as Mr. 33 on this board....

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I know more women that are forgetful about birth control then guys, so you girls need to get over your high horse that you are more mature than most men. If it was my choice to take pills (and they were proven safe enough not to make me sterile) I would be able to handle that with no hestitation. It's my ass on the line if she gets pregnant, and that's something I'd like to have the "power" to prevent as well.

*handing out free condoms to all*

GP had just asked in the post above mine

Why do so many men insist on wearing condoms even though the woman is on the Pill?
So, I responded with my post stating one reason why they might do that.

As someone else said, irresponsible does not equal untrustworthy. When I was on the pill, I had major problems remembering to take it. We always relied on a second method of birth control because of this. Does that mean that I was "untrustworthy" in regards to the relationship? Dude, I wasn't trying to get myself knocked up so I could trap him into staying in the relationship or anything -- y'all know how I feel about kids. I just have a bad memory. That doesn't make me a bad person, mmmkay?

I'd definitely be okay with a guy taking the pill -- I just wouldn't make that our only method of birth control. But then again, I'm neurotic about birth control. Most people overestimate how effective it is. The pill is 99.9 percent effective only if you take it perfectly every single time, which almost nobody does. Backup methods are never a bad idea.

Judgemental much?

I'm not into the "hook up" scene at all. I know that a lot of the women here who have responded in similar ways aren't, either. You've completely missed the point of what some people here are trying to say.

Really? I guess my 4 year monogomous relationship with my boyfriend has just been downgraded to a hook-up. Thank you for not only offending me but a bunch of other female GCers as well.

ETA: I just read your comment above and I don't believe that your comment was read into much. You said your views were unpopular on GC because you're not into the "hook up". That translates to me that you believe our relationships are merely hook ups.

I am in the shortest relationship of anyone in this thread. Also, every woman in this thread is still having PREMARITAL SEX, so let's not act like we're holy rollers when we aren't.

Yea, just what I want to buy, something to mess with my wang to impress a date. With all the drug side effects out there, I don't think any guy would take a pill besides viagra to enhance performance.

If size is a problem for ya, maybe the should market bc's that tighten a woman's package?

Well you may condemn us for hoing it up then. Although somehow, I don't think that's in your character. ;)

ha ha ha.. are you kidding? I think a drug that would increase size would do really well. $$$$$ seriously.

And dr's have been throwing in extra sitches for years after childbirth to make women "tighter".. .without telling them (whoops!).
