Do I get an award for you saying my post is the dumbest ever? I mean coming from you I should probably go off myself. You don't realize what a miserable person you really are for mocking other people's religious traditions. At least Jesus loves you, I don't know who else would considering we're all trashy and shopping at Wal-Mart.

Maybe you should find out who Elijah is, sorry you didn't get the joke/reference.

Yes, enjoying childhood traditions of celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is A BIT WEIRD. Sorry no one ever invited you to Jesus' birthday party, which really says something because Jesus loves everyone.

May Sheetcake have mercy on your soul.

First of all, I wasn't talking to you to begin with. All I said was that it was weird to me. Secondly, celebrating the birth, death, and resurection of Christ isn't weird, but having a freaking birthday cake with candles on it, is. What's even more weird is the fact that you're responding to some moron who's username is Jesus H. Christ, and knowing the fact that you're making a joke out of the whole thing by making stupid comments about Sheetcake having mercy on my soul makes you an idiot. And you have some nerve telling me I'm a miserable person for mocking your religious traditions. Making stupid comments in regards to my soul isn't mocking mine?

ugh...shuttup cheerfulgreek

It NEVER matters who you were typing to. Anyone who wants to reply to your blanket statements about Jesus' birthday cake (or Walmart) can and will do so. PM the only person you want to type to next time.

Isn't a birthday cake celebrating a birth?

Ours looked more like this: http://www.firstumcweirton.org/images/cake.JPG

Jesus and I had a chat today. He misses the cake, too. He was partial to the red velvet.

We used this pan, and no candles. Candles were used at the Christmas Eve candlelight service, not on the cake.

I knew plenty of kids when I was younger whose families had birthday cakes for Jesus on Christmas or Christmas Eve. After all, the whole purpose of Christmas IS TO CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF JESUS, CHEERFULGREEK.

I find it pretty stupid to have a birthday cake for a part of the trinity. My mother-in-law does it and every year I find it hilarious. I keep waiting for Jesus to come have a slice. But, he keeps standing her up.

Jesus has good taste. I've always liked red velvet best.
Cheerfulgreek, I'm praying for you.
Tippiechick, if Jesus ever stops by for a slice of your mother-in-law's cake, please PM me. I've invited Him several times and He hasn't joined me yet. Maybe your mil has some tips she'd be willing to share.

SWTXBelle 01-03-2009 09:19 PM

When Jesus comes back for some cake, we'll all know.

KappaKittyCat 01-03-2009 11:30 PM

Mmm... cake.

It wasn't something my family did, either, but I think some do it to further drive home the meaning of Christmas to their kids when they're young. They may not understand all the pieces of the Christmas story, or the sermon at church, but they understand the meaning of a birthday cake.
