Stereotypes
Here at my university its kinda hard to change stereotypes. For the past couple of year the same sorority has had the most success with rush. But lately that seems to be changing. Changing stereotypes is hard to do but not impossible. It takes time and the quality of girls that a sorority gets every semester.
My chapter was not doing so great when i joined but know because of the work that my New Member class and the the ones after mine have put in so much work, my chapter is getting better. We are know as the nice, down to earth girls. |
Obviously, stereotypes about a chapter cannot change overnight. It seems like it takes at least 5 years to get rid/acquire a new one.
There's always going to be those people that are still active in their chapter that were around when the old stereotype was huge. That's how they keep going. Individuals may notice a chapter changing, but it takes time for the greek/campus community to notice as a whole. |
