Okay, I hate the commercial for Yoohoo(sp?)...(the chocolate drink) featuring the little black girl and her mother. First of all, the little girl's lips are so white and crusty, and i'm like, "y'all didn't have any CHAPSTICK???" http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif Knowing they were gonna do a close up on her mouth as she sipped the drink... Okay second, her line "it's yummy" really bugs me to death! I am from the South and I don't know many Black people that say "it's yummy" when asked if something tastes good or not. Couldn't they have gotten a little white girl to do that OR better yet, give her another line? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/confused.gif I'm like, what's really going on? When the commercial comes on, I turn the channel! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif

There's this commercial that runs around my area about Apple Auto Sales. The owner of the dealership is dressed like one of those reverand's out to get your money in one of those 1960-70 suits and big hair. This black guy comes in dressed like a woman and says, "Oh, Reverand Rob, I need a new car, but I have bad credit" and then the "Rev" smacks the "woman" on the head as if laying hands on her. The black guy/girl lifts her hands up in the air and faints saying "OOooh, Lawd." Then the reverand says (get this!), "Apple Auto sales has the power to HEAL YOUR CREDIT. Come on by......we're healin'!"
I could not even believe this cheap, horrible commercial. You can't help but to laugh whenever you see it. Good thing the bad ones only air when most people are sleep. ------------------ *someday...if it's in God's will* |
I absolutely cannot stand that Sprite commercial where everyone has a cell phone or is on the pay phone and then they have the Af. American teen yelling across the friggin' street about "...the doctor said it's not contagious"
I saw that and just shook my head saying what's really happenin'? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/redface.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/confused.gif The first time my sister saw that commercial with the singing belly buttons, she was so scared! I was rollin' on the floor laughing at her. |

I live in two cities so i hate two types of comercials.
DC: The Henry's auto insurance are the most ridiculous things on tv. He is sooo annoying! Boston: I hate the furniture commercials. Mattress Giant commercials go oooh aaaah throughout the time...it's like phone sex through a tv. other furniture commericals include Deans and Bernie & Phyll... http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gif |

Here in Columbus, we have a major dealership called Ricart Ford, and their slogan is "Ricart Ford. We're DEALIN'" This commercial has been going on since the mid '80s. The main huckster is Fred Ricart, and back in the day he would play his guitar making music videos and singing songs fracturing pop tunes to suit his dealership. Ex: The Beach Boys "Fun, Fun, Fun". He would sing "We're having fun, fun, fun in a Ricart Ford new T-Bird today." At the end of the commercial he would strum a few bars on his guitar and shout, "WE'RE DEALIN!" However in the past few years, the "videos" stopped and it would be a simple calm 10-second spot--something like "New Ford Taurus, $199 a month at Ricart Ford. We're dealin'". I guess that bulldrop got old (at last!) RM |

Those furniture ads are wild. I thought the same thing when I heard the oooh ahhh. The ads are all SO corny. I wonder why ALL furniture ads have to be so corny. No matter what part of the country they are from, the commercial is corny. BTW, Speaking of ads, What do you guys think about Radio ads? THey have got to be THE worst. |

Ok I have another bad commercial. My hometown peeps will know exactly what I'm talking about. There is a small church that advertises their Sunday morning services. Well I guess they decided to pick one of the Rev.'s better sermons and it goes like this:
"Get dope out yo vain and hope in yo brain. You'll neva get nowhere, smoking the pipe...neva. You want to get your lesson out you wanna be smart in school, get rid of the drugs." |
