I early voted in Texas last week. Stood in line for around an hour.
|
After an hour and a half wait, voting machine breakdown and standing in line behind a ton of voters casting provisional ballots, I voted! :D
People were ON IT at my polling place. Folks rushing up to me asking if I had any problems or if any intimidation took place. I kinda wanted somebody to challenge me just so I could sic one of those civil rights attorneys on 'em. :o I was ready to open up a can of partisan whoop a.ss. :D http://www.edivaonline.com/YaBBImage...ies/powpow.gif |
I voted today for that first time ever! I feel so important and proud of myself like i'm really making a difference:D

I voted in Maryland before I came to work today. I had to use a provisional ballot because I was not transferred from my prior location (in 2003, I moved to another part of the same county).
However, there was no big deal about the provisional ballot. The poll worker looked and saw that I was registered last year so I had to fill out a registration with my new info (even though I did that when I changed my drivers license last year) and complete a paper ballot. The entire package was placed in a one-way day-glo orange bag marked Provisional Ballots. I was in the polling place for a total of about 45 minutes (30min in line) and I was the only person during that time who had to cast a provisional ballot. |
I voted this morning and I must say that it was a beautiful sight seeing all the young brothers and sisters in there voting(30 min wait which is huge in my town). I lived in small town NC where my county is number 1 in the state in unemployment and it was great to see all those young people voting for their future.
Regardless of the outcome the Alphas, Deltas, Omegas, NAACP, and various student orgs did a great job in getting peple informed, registered and to the polls. |
***HIp Hip Hooray for the FIRST TIME VOTER(S)***

I VOTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At about 11:30 this morning, I did the dayum thing!!!!!!! And I felt great when I finished. :D  |
I voted today!!!
I was at the polls at 7:00 am putting my Democratic vote all over the ballot!
|
I mailed my absentee ballot week before last. I felt my vote would do A LOT more back in Florida than here in Texas  . Let's just hope it doesn't get "lost".
|
I voted and wore my "Vote or Die" shirt while I did it. I think I scared the little old lady behind the table. No sticker though.:(

And yeah, I claim inSane Diego, not Redmond... PS My husband stood in line early in the morning because this 1000 year old clueless poll lady decided to challenge a voter and did not know how to get a new ballot for the person--while 5 other 1000 year olds looked on not trying to help other voters, like my husband out... |

Yay for me!
I just got back in the house - thank GOD that my husband was already in line (and had been waiting already for 2 hours)! I found my husband, then had someone come up to me and tell me where the back of the line was, and he saw that I was about to give him "the look" and then I discovered that it was someone that I knew that was just joking with me. So I asked the guy behind my husband if he minded if I broke line, and he was cool with it - otherwise, I was looking at a wait of at least 2 and a half hours. I live 3 minutes from the polling place, and I was back home in 25 minutes.
I heard the 1000 year old workers (thanks for letting me borrow that, Soror AKA_Monet!) say something about they were looking at being there for at least another 4 hours and it was only 6:25 then! RBL, ya say that H-town had a 30 minute wait? Wow! First Chik-fil-a, now this!! :D |
