I voted last friday .... i screwed up my absentee ballot (it kinda got mangled in my backpack) so luckily I was in my homestate for break and could vote and luckily the could cancel my absentee ballot too else i may not have been able to vote

I have waited up to an hour in past elections, for both the old lever booths and the ACCU (like scantron) paper ballots. It had more to do with about 100 people in line for 5 booths than the length of time to actually fill out the ballot. If you have to go before work or right after work, it can be a long wait. The ideal time is the middle of the day.

My boss encourages voting (for whoever) and says "If you're late because you were voting, you don't have to use your CTO (vacation) time", so I'll go after I drop the kids off at school that morning.

DA: You've hit almost all the swing states. It looks like it's time for you to move to Pennsylvania!

The good news is that you can't be prevented from voting as long as you're in line before the poll closing time.

I used to work for a company that gave us 2 hours of "voting leave" so you could come in late or leave early on election day. It was interesting to watch people roll in at 11am on a Tuesday once in a while... "oh, we had to vote on the school budget today... (I was in and out in five minutes but I'm not going to admit that. Boy, it sure felt great to sleep in this morning...) "

We have early voting in Texas, and I voted today. Took me 3 hours to get through the line!! The said that about 17,000 people had voted at that one place just TODAY!!

I mailed my ballot earlier this week. Since Tuesday is a holiday, I'd rather spend the day doing something other than waiting in line to vote.

I mailed in my ballot on Friday. Cost me about 15 dollars to guarantee it got there by Monday at 7, since Florida decided to send it to me on Thursday *rme*

I voted early on Friday afternoon! The average wait in my county (DeKalb) was 2 - 4 hours, so I was pretty happy to get out of there on the lower in end of the scale. Actual voting took about 5 minutes.

My dad is here painting my house, and he and my nephew (who's in college) are driving back to our home town (3 hours away) to vote on Tuesday.

I thought the wait was longer out in Dekalb, with the way the newscasters on WSB were talking, lol!

A friend of mine lives in Cobb, and she waited a good...4.5 hours last Friday. *dead*

Now that election day is here, it's time to bump this! I have voted.

I dropped my kids off at their school, which has two voting precincts that utilize their facilities. There wasn't a parking place to be found and the lines looked like 2 to 3 hour lines to me. I dashed over to my voting precinct at the local firestation and was out in 30 minutes. Our precinct clearly has less people in it!

That school is going to be CHAOS at drop off and pick up time!

ETA: My ex voted at the school that my kids attend and he reported in that he was in line for almost 3 hours. So, my vote has been effectively cancelled out by him... <sigh>

We got to our polling location at 6:30am this morning. There were already about 200 hundred people in line, and we got one of the last parking spaces. When the polls opened at 7am, had to have been at least a thousand people waiting in line to vote. It only took 50 more minutes to get my ballot and vote. When we left, the line was even longer than it had been. I'm so glad I got up early and got it out of the way :)

Woke up at 6AM, got to the polls at 6:45AM, there were a lot of people there, but no line for me!!! Only 2 people ahead of me, I encourage EVERYONE to get out and vote!!!!!

I got up early and went right when the polls opened at 6 and waited an hour. Normally its more like 10 mins. to vote. I dont mind the wait, I think its great that a lot of being are voting.

i voted already... only had to wait 15 min. my poor parents had to wait an hour!!

I got to the polls at 7. Still had to wait in line for an hour. Bad for me, but great to see so many people exercising their civic duty.
