For me....
My longest : 9 years (+2 of dating/engagement) to Mr. AChiOAlumna...like someone else on this board said previously...how he puts up with me sometimes is a wonder....but he's wonderful, so we'll keep him around!!! ;) I also had a 4-1/2 year on again/off again relationship that lasted from my sophomore year of college until after graduation... I had a 9 month relationship in my senior year of high school... In between, I had a few 1-3 month relationships and a lot of dates... |
3 years: 2nd sem freshman year to 1997, off and on. Broke up b/c he wanted to get married only b/c we got pregnant. Wasn't enough for me at the time, plus didnt want to be an Army wife. (But led to my other LTR, our daughter. :P)
2 years: we were engaged, had a BAD breakup due to miscommunication. We still chat every now and again. ~8 months: LDR. He didnt have ready access to a car and I was in school, working, and a single mom. current relationship, 1 year, 8 months. So far so good. Met the 'rents, grandma, brothers, HS best friends, went to family reunion and everything. We are cool. :P I lub him and stuff.. lol. |
my longest ever was one month :(

I love me my Jonathon. |
1yr 7 mo - april 2003 - november of 2004 -- wasnt really a "relationship", <- real healthy, but all his brothers knew me as his "girlfriend" & my sisters thought of him as my "boyfriend" (go figure  ) broke it off becauseeee he decided to forget to tell me that he was seeing someone else
1yr6 m - oct 2002 - march 2003 - my highschool sweetheart, we had life planned out for each other too. i moved from ny - vegas with my family in jan '03, and he didnt know when his family was moving here, and the 3000 mile difference kind of winded us out, i joined my sorority, met all different kinds of people and just kind of grew apart from him . we still talk & see each other though, he moved to vegas about 2 months after we broke up, & hes still close with my family in both vegas & ny, so he comes home to ny with me when i go back ... weird. he does have a girlfriend though ... with the same name as me  and before him it was like a 9th grade til meeting the above boyfriend thing - he was 2 years older than me and SO cool  it was the on again off again situation. again, very healthy. now hes getting married to some nasty girl !! |
Longest relationships:
Current: 10 years in April ( married 5 years so far) mr. trojangal is really something else...friends on both sides were kind of amazed that we actually married...they all saw us more as a long term relationship forever..still remember some of our good friends passing a $50 at the wedding reception..apparently they had a betting pool if he was going to ever get married  the one before that: 1 year and 2 months: wow..this one was just one of those times where I must have been out of my head--I look back now and ask myself "what was I doing??? the one in college: 2 years--this was my TKE sweetie..we were engaged and things just didn't work out...I was going to be graduating and he still had another year...sometimes I think there may have been some "family" pressure on both sides as well although it was pretty subtle..it was an awful breakup for both of us..we stayed in touch for years until I met mr. trojangal, and then kind of drifted out of touch..we sort of know how each other is doing through friends, but don't ask..I know he got married the year before I did to a sweet girl who really suited him better |
7 years and 9 months. We broke up a week before Valentine's Day last year @ a Starbucks in Manhattan that I avoid now at all costs. We started dating at the end of my freshmen year of HS when he was a senior there too, ages 15 & 18. Things went sour when I went to college and we never fully recovered, tho we did pretend we were fine for 4 years after that! How grown up of us.
A year out of the relationship now I see things with a lot of clarity and know it was not the healthiest of relationships and that I deserve better. I always thought I'd marry him but now I feel that I'd always be a "little girl" in that relationship, never his equal and thankfully since then I've grown up quite a bit. I'm a better person because of all that. No regrets. Currently I've been dating a great man here in the city for 3 months. :) |
Most of my relationships have been 1 month or less.
Sophomore year of high school, I was with a guy for close to five months...he broke up with me a few days before prom because he had cheated on me and wanted to start dating the other girl... My current relationship will be 3 months on Tuesday...and I couldn't be happier... |
Too Long!
My longest relationship was 4 years. Came to college and the boyfriend got mad because I went through recruitment. About 2 months after I came to college, I broke up with him. He was never supportive of anything I wanted to do and all he wanted me to do was spend every waking minute with him! I love him to death, but he was just holding me back from all the great friendships I've formed since coming to college!

This thread is old, but I like it so I'll respond to it:p .
6 years- married for 2. She came from a family background that was opposite of mine. That caused a lot of problems. At the time I didn't know how important family background was. I should have listened to my parents. Everything was great before we got married, but afterwards...? Put it this way, I was really glad to get out. (No Kids) thank GOD.:p 6 months-my parents didn't like this girl. She turned out to be a slut anyway. 5 days-I was in highschool. I really liked her a lot. She broke up with me because I was going off to college in another state. She thought I would leave her for another woman. |
