Considering there was a top 10 song at the time with the lyrics "boop boop diddle daddle waddum, choo" I think we need to put it in context. :p

Although there was a guy at my high school who could have really used that fashion statement. (Hot bod, yucky face)

That was degrading by 1947 standards (we don't need women's liberation and a Civil Rights Movement to tell us that) and it is degrading by 2005 standards.

It's no more degrading than any other beauty pageant where women are judged on their figures - really less since she's wearing far more than most women wear clubbing these days. I'm guessing the bag was so no one would know who was who.
