For those too lazy to read the forums they post in, it's already been revealed that the book/movie is based on DG.

Gotta love keyboard courage

Interesting first post.

I'm surprised the DZ mods haven't closed this already. The pissing contest is so passé.

Well, since the thread's still open, I looooove Legally Blonde. :)

But what is it about the movie's sorority references that would make DZ and DG get into a pissing contest? I never read the book so does the book place sororities in a less superficial light than the movie did? The movie references certainly aren't flattering enough for a pissing contest--besides the obvious "sisterhood" mentions.

I don't see the movie references as the issue. It just seems like DGs/DZs feel the need to continue the debate so that one of them can once and for all claim "ZOMG! Legally Blonde was written for us! We're special and better than you!"

Why's this thread still open? Where else can you find people crashing our board to discuss with such passion a movie from 2001? It's amusing to us to say the least :)

Delta Gamma, not Delta Zeta

The writer of Legally Blonde was a student at James Madison University and she based the movie off of her friend who was a member of JMU's Delta Gamma chapter, Epsilon Nu. The sorority in the movie gets it's name from the combination of the sorority itself and the chapter.... Delta (Gamma) (Epsilon) Nu. Delta Gamma's crest appears in the movie at some point, but it has Bruiser's head in the center of it.
:)

:)

In the opening sequence, they show a pledge paddle and the crest of Delta Nu is *very* similar to Delta Gamma's crest, but yes, instead of the top of the crest being a rose, it's a chihuahua's head (yes, I used to be totally obsessed with that movie and I own the DVD of it of both #1 and #2 Legally Blonde). :D:p

I've also seen the "third" movie, called "Legally Blondes" which is a terrible movie, but hey, I still needed to see it to satisfy my curiousity.

and yes, this is a 10 year old thread. :D

I watched it with my then-12 year old niece. Yeah...it was pretty bad. But these are the things we do for the children we love.
