Bump, because I want to know if there are any new recolonizations in the works!

Did you see the new chapters in the Triangle? One at Duquesne and the other, I can't remember where because I suck. Kappa Mu and Kappa Nu.

Also, reading back a bit...my chapter is Beta Eta. Does that mean Beta Eta Sigma Kappa? :D

SigKapSweetie 11-06-2006 07:42 PM

I really, really want there to be an 'Eta Pi' chapter.

ragtimerose 11-07-2006 01:08 PM

<crash> Pardonnez moi.

I belong to an "Eta Pi" chapter of my sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, and it's a lot of fun. Of course, we still get the occasional joke, but we're sisters nonetheless.

It would be cool to have an "Eta Pi" chapter of SK. I think ADPi has one. Not sure of the other NPC sororities.

We don't have any Eta or Iota chapters... so no Eta Pi or I eta ____ or anything like that

BetteDavisEyes 11-07-2006 01:54 PM

Our newest chapters are:

Kappa Mu - Duquesne University - April 22, 2006

Kappa Nu - Marquette University -

Kappa Xi - University of Nevada, Reno (colony October 2006)

ADPi does have an Eta Pi chapter (Virginia Polytech). So does ZTA (Wright State), and Tri-Sigma (Metro State College of Denver)

This is kind of random, but does anybody know what the housing situation is for your Kappa Nu chapter? I drove through Marquette's campus today and noticed that they weren't in the same complex that the other sororities are.

I have asked & am awaiting a response. This struck me as curious. Perhaps there isn't room for them yet? I'll update when I hear anything.

I'm guessing there isn't - maybe they have to wait until whoever is in one of the similar townhomes (if there is one, I can't even remember ) has moved out. :)

Can we sticky this?

As to skipping random chapter designations, I do find it weird that we have an Alpha Phi chapter, a Delta Gamma chapter, and a Delta Zeta chapter, but not Kappa Delta chapter. As for Beta Omicron, think about it, would you want to be the BO chapter?

One of my friends in ADPi at North Alabama pointed out to me that ADPi sounds like ate-a-pie if you say it with a southern accent.

It's been stickied!

Umm...correction but I'm pretty sure that the chapter at San Diego State University went dormant this year.

Southwest Texas State Chapter

Just wanted to say that Sigma Kappa's Southwest Texas State University Chapter (now Texas State Univ.) did indeed close in 1983. That was the year I went through rush. I'd love to see us both return!

I notice that you live in Somerville - so do I! If you hear of them needing alum help to recolonize, i'd be happy to play a role

I'm in agreement that it looks like we need to focus on maintaining the chapters we have so more don't close, I just looked through all the closed chapters and it makes me quite sad. Though, it should be noted that i'm sure a good portion of that is the various universities (not all, but some - like banning a greek system all together)

Sigkapash 12-21-2007 10:36 PM

the Kappa Xi chapter was established on December 2, 2006
