here's one of our cheers that we do during intermural games...
D, D, Delta Z, We're the best sorority! SFA, here we come! Delta Zeta, number 1! and no matter if we win or lose after a game, the whole team raises one fist and screams "EYYYYYYYYYY" and then all of us run out to the middle of the field and surround them, and we join in on it...then we all yell "eyyyyy d, d, d, delta, z,z,z, zeta, delta zeta, delta zeta, delta zeta, hey! eyyyyyy.." and repeat twice. there's a million more, but i've forgotten a lot of them. does everyone sing the same song during candlelights? |

DZ Formal Sing Songs for Greek Week
Hey Girls,
I'm a Delta Zeta of the Kappa Xi chapter at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Our Greek week is next week and we have to do Formal sing at Greek Sing...however as a chapter we cannot decide which song is the correct one. As Greek Week Representative, Song Chair, Philanthropy Chair, and Chapter Guard, I really want to make sure we sing the correct one. The majority believe it is "The Rose of Delta Zeta" but I also do not know the lyrics. if anyone could help me out please email me a.s.a.p. Thanks! I am a DZ at SDSU, Gamma Omicron Chapter. As most of you may know we have just been colonized a year ago! Unfortunatly we do not know too many songs. Some of these songs are already on here, but we sing them a little differently. The following is how we do our meet and greet day of Formal Recruitment. If it is difficult to read feel free to ask me for clarification.
*Beginning of formal recruitment all actives crowd the door and when the knock comes, start singing as door opens, have PNMs stand outside until you start to walk them in **Keep a steady clap, unless I type otherwise, first line clap on me, D, E, L, and A Give me a D and an E and a L-T-A And a Z and an E and T-A (clap on Z, E, T, A) Delta Zeta Delta Zeta is the one you should choose, (back to normal, steady clap) Be a DZ girl at F-S-U (change to your school letters ex) my school was Ferris State University FSU ** clap each letter of college) Delta Zeta, Delta Zeta Says How do you do? (wave hello with both hands) Delta Zeta Delta Zeta Does welcome you (wave hands in a ‘come this way’ motion) So come on in, here’s your cue, Be a DZ girl cause we want you (point to yourself on we and want, and point to them at you) Welcome to the Delta Zeta Party, Come on in (wave entire arms, motioning in. Then every active grabs a PNM and walks them in the room) *Immediately go into next chant while walking the PNM to the circle *Same clap, maybe a little faster Oh Im so glad to be in the best sorority Delta Zeeeetaaaa, Delta Z Oh Im so glad to be in the best sorority Delta Zeta is the one for me (last line clap ever word) ** Same clap Boom boom boom boom Delta Zeta, Delta Zee Boom boom boom boom Delta Zeta, Delta Zee Boom boom boom boom Give me a roman lamp and a diamond bright Give me a rose to wish on, every night Give me some sisters who are filled with loyalty Then what do you got? Delta Zee Boom boom boom boom We then do introductions and chat to everyone, then teach them Im a D *X = clap I am a D XX I am a D XX I am a D-E-L-T-A-Z-E-T-A XX And I will L-O-V-E, love My S-I-S-T-E-R-S We’ll be together for ever more XX Then we break everyone (Actives and PNMs) into two groups (make them as fair as possible) and have actives take a minute or so to make sure that the PNMs know the song Then have a chant off, each time increasing the speed and volume of the chant. One side will do, then the other and so on for like 3 rounds, then both teams say it together. Make sure you are really encouraging the PNMs. We normally start off with a little space between the two groups and each time we chant we move closer. *Start walking the girls to the door for them to leave Boom boom boom boom Delta Zeta says goodbye to you Boom boom boom boom Hope you’ll miss us, cause we’ll miss you too Boom boom boom boom Up till now its been a lot of fun Delta Zeta, Delta Zeta is the only one **PNMs should be exiting the room/house now, yell this as they walk away We know you wanna hear it, our Delta Zeta Spirit, so let our voices Riiiinnng!!
