Phi Sigma Sigma's mascot is the Sphinx...

Our International philanthropy is the National Kidney Foundation...

And our HQ was/is in Florida... But moving to Maryland very soon, if not already!

Well, the blue iris is what we're supposed to use if we can get it, but they're hard to find and rather expensive, so we usually use the purple iris.

Lots of fraternities and sororities have HQ in Indiana, but I really don't have time to research who is where, sorry!

Buttonz 07-04-2004 07:05 PM

SDT's mascot is also the Teddy Bear

efcheerBB 07-05-2004 01:13 PM

SDT's HQ is Indiana. I don't have much time to research which other GLO's are in IN also...sorry...

I believe there's a whole like "office park" where all these Headquarters are located - on Founder's Road in Indianapolis.

I always thought it was the other way around. When we use irises in Pref Ceremony or to give to NMs, we always order blue irises even though our flower is actually the lovely purple iris. The blue looks purple and is cheaper.

It probably depends on what part of the country you are in.

Sorry! I couldn't find a flower on the KKG website but I found fleur-de-lis on a chapter's site.

Didn't someone perfect an iris with dark blue uppers and light blue lower petals? (Might've been the other way around -- light upper, dark lower.)

I bring this up because I think a Phi Mu was the one to perfect it!

HotDamnImAPhiMu 07-06-2004 11:00 AM

I was wrong, it was carnation. Wish we could claim her but I do believe she's Pi Beta Phi.

"And as for the Kappa Kappa Gamma iris, guess what? I bred their official iris 25 years ago! There's a picture of me with it in a Key from back then (MSKKG has seen it!)...the standards (upper petals) are light blue and the falls (lower petals) are royal blue."
