Oy! :-/
Well, take care of yourself, and I hope all goes well when Max does find his way into the world. :) |
Hang in there honey! May it be an easy "eviction" of Max from Hotel Mom! :)
|
Oh wow! How disturbing! You're in Nashville, right? I need to make a note to not go that doctor if I ever have kids. Sounds like she doesn't have very good bedside manner.

Oh that stinks!!!! If there's anything I've learned from my extensive experience with doctors it's that a lot of them are truly stupid. Of course, that goes for any field where you hafta be really really smart. You can have all the book smarts in the world, but that counts for nothing if you have no common sense (and a lot of people I know are severely lacking in that department). If you say you have epigastric pain, you more than likely do! I was told I just had an eating disorder when I developed IBD. Eating disorder my butt....
Hope everything turns out well in the long run and that Dr. Stupidhead gets whatever's coming to him/her. Can't wait to finally see that little guy! ZLAM, Meghan |
WAIT A MINUTE!!!!!!!
Your REGULAR, CHOSEN doctor scheduled to induce you, wrote the order for pitocin, etc. You were on the drip for 3 hours, having contractions, and an ON CALL doctor d/c'd YOUR DOCTOR'S order?????!?!?!?!?! What the hell???? I'm not one for frivilous lawsuits, but someone would be owing me some money!!!! How in the hell could that be good medical judgement? Aren't you within a month of your due date? What are the risks of inducing now versus the risks of waiting? My sister's OB let her have preeclampsia for a whole 3 DAYS before she induced...about 3 weeks early. Absolutely no complications whatsoever. Course, I know each person and each pregnacy is different. But man, if that were me I'd be standing on the bed throwing things at whomever tried to take that IV away from me!!! In any case, GOOD LUCK!!!!! I'm thinking of you! PsychTau |
bless your heart...
thoughts and prayers with you. |

Try to relax, and know that your Greek Chat friends are praying for you, Max, the delivery, and Mr. Tippiechick. We luv ya, Sweetie!! |
I think you need to call your regular doctor ASAP. I don't understand why he/she would schedule an induction when he/she wasn't on duty though. Make sure your own doc knows what went on.

Good luck Tifany!!! Hope all goes well when the day actually comes!

I was given Cytotec Thursday night at 10:30 p.m. Friday morning at 5:30 a.m. they started the pitocin drip. Then, at 7:30 a.m., the OB on-call for my doctor's practice walked in, asked if I was contracting (all she had to do was look at the monitor), and instructed the nurse to turn off the pitocin until she could talk to the perinatologist and my regular OB. She told me she saw NO reason for being induced. She said she was calling my induction a FAILED induction and stopping it. I was told the EXACT opposite of everything my regular OB had said. The on-call dr. told me I DID NOT have PIH/preeclampsia, that my headaches were NOT caused by high blood pressure, and that my blood pressure was "high normal" and not "high"... She basically told me that she thought I had a good chance of ending up as a C-section if the induction continued and did not agree that it was the best decision. She also told me the perinatologist had changed his mind and agreed with her... I asked to speak to my OB and she told me there was no need to b/c she had already spoken to her about it. I asked 3 times. I finally told her that if I did not get a call from my OB that I would call the clinic myself. I got a call from the clinic scheduling my appt. for this coming week and asked to speak with my doctor. I was told they would let her know. I STILL have not heard from her and she is on vacation this coming week... I have absolutely never felt this abandoned by my doctors. I used to work with these people -- I KNOW them... How do they treat people they don't know? I know this is long, but I tried to explain things as best I could... Thanks to everyone for your encouragement... I have never needed it more. |
Honestly, sometimes doctors like to one-up each other. Even if it appears as though they get along, one doctor might put a stop on something another one has done just to make a jab at them and that is what this smacks of.
If anything happens, be sure you have documented everything so that you can take the bad doctor to court. |
Well hon, I sure wish you the best. Keep us upated. I'm praying for ya! :)

Oh Tiffany, I'm just speechless. I'm so sorry that you three are going through this right now. Keep being pro-active about this! Keep making phone calls and asking questions until you get the answers you deserve.
All of my positive thoughts and happy wishes are with you right now. Hugs, Christin (mom of 3!) |
