A guy being greek to me really is not that huge of a deal. Sure, it's fun to run back and giggle with your sorority sisters about the totally hot guy you kissed the night before who is the PRESIDENT of DEF over on College Ave. and omg you just can't do any better than this guy. Doesn't matter if he's a total d-bag, the fact that he is president of his chapter which is strong on our campus seems to be enough for many girls I know. After my freshman year though the novelty of "frat boys" wore off more and more. Now I am at a point where I like a guy a lot, he happens to be greek and I met him b/c our houses were paired together for greek week one year. do I like him solely b/c he's a member of XYZ? Hell no, I like him b/c of his awesome personality and beautiful blue eyes. :D Greeks at Mizzou are just...I don't know, they're different. Some girls and guys never grow out of the phase where they are obsessed with greek life. I, along with the majority of my friends, however have gotten over it. I'm friends with who I want to be, and I date who I want. I actually prefer if the guy ISN'T in a house and if he is, I like him to be older and not as active. You can pick freshman out anywhere though on our campus b/c the first question out of their mouths when they're trying to hit on someone is "So are you in a house?" Honestly if I had a freakin quarter for everytime I've been asked that I'd be a damn millionaire. Wow, ok sorry I didn't mean to totally go off and rant, but I guess this topic just kind of gets me riled up and I think I am reading way too much into it haha. I am just going to go to bed now...and probably delete this post later on when I realize how crazy I sound. ;) |
I love Mr. Silver; and, yes, he is SUPER CUTE in his Pi Kapp ringer t-shirt.
:D Silver |
I took a sociology class where the prof claimed that fraternities and sororities were intended to keep the better (best) students together. He also said that sororities allowed for men to choose the best of the female population.
I thought it as interesting... kinda goes along with the topic. |
I got a point to make and wonder if there are any co-eds out there (Co-ed Frats of Co-ed Sororities). I am in a co-ed frat and a lot of brothers tend to marry another. It would def be a plus if I found a member of a GLO to date. It has been hard trying to explain commitments and my love for my organization to non-brothers.
My question for any of the co-ed groups. Do a lot of your members date? |

Like I said, it is a CO-ED fraternity. So yes, we are all called brothers so when 2 people in the fraternity marry, yes brothers would be marrying brothers.
|
Oh heck yes! Of course I am in the same fraternity as you...but the wedding I was in last week was my little marrying another brother from Michigan Tech. :) When I joined my chapter it seems a lot of people from my chapter had dated each other. It's cool because you have one thing in common already. :)

It's nice to know that it isn't just in my Region and Section. ;)
