There is a Kappa Alpha Psi house at Indiana University. The chapter members don't live in it and haven't since the mid-90s or so, since the chapter is not large enough to justify the expenses of living in the house. The chapter owns it though, and is currently renting it out to another group.

mostly non-NIC houses...
in '57, KAPsi & APhiA had houses at U of Kansas; also KHK engineering, several other professionals.
U of Mich "the mother of professional fraternities" had a good many professionals with houses in the late 50s, I do not know about today. Numbers are imperative to support a house; a lot of fraternity learning is had by having a "total experience." The Risk Management, zoning, bad press, cost, all have had a factor in many groups being unable to have a house. We brought most of this upon ourselves...and continue to do so. With sororities, although no one has seemingly charged so...the many universities with "rooms" or "floors" or "lodges" or other means of meeting places, seem to imply they feel the girls are not capable of managing a house. This is a slap in the face of femininity, but no one seems to have the guts to say it. Okay, Tom, how many more have I pissed off? LOL |
Here is SAI's Beta chapter at Northwestern:
http://www.northwestern.edu/housing/images/SAI.jpg Other chapters with houses include Epsilon at Ithaca (I THINK they still have a house, although it might just be a suite now), and the aforementioned Sigma Alpha at Illinois Wesleyan. Sigma Mu at Hillsdale has a house too, I believe. |

I know at Elon, at least one chapter of the NPHC organizations on campus has a house. All of Elon's houses are owned by the university and sleep just 12 members of the organizations, so they're not big at all. The one that the NPHC chapters use is a half-house, like a duplex. Right now I think Phi Beta Sigma has six members in their half and Sigma Chi has the other half. We have a total of 12 houses on campus that house 13 chapters, and we have 20 IFC, NPC, and NPHC orgs on campus as well as a suite in a dorm. This will be the first year Alpha Chi Omega has a house on campus, and we're way excited about it.
The only picture I could find of the houses is here. I'll keep searching to see if I can find more. I've heard that AKPsi at UGA has a house. My little transferred there and says they have one. |
I'm not sure of the letters but the veterinary fraternity at UGA has a house. I was in puppy class with a person who lived there.

Ceres has a house here at WSU. I can't find a picture right now, but if I come across one I will be sure to post it. Its a really nice house!

BTW, if you don't mind me asking, since AXO is getting a house next year, who is loosing their house???? |
At Mercer, we had 4 NPHC (they may have 5 now) and 1 local (which is now gone) and when the new Greek houses were built (2000) all the NPC/IFC/NPHC and the 1 local all got houses. The school owns them, but each chapter is responsible for filling the rooms (10 for NPC/IFC and 5 for NPHC) which cost about the same as living in an on campus apartment. The chapter also has to pay a yearly rental fee for the house itself (really for the chapter room). Anyway...they are nice and all look similar.
