I think at the time of graduation my high school was considered the largest west of the Mississippi at about 5,500 or so. I think my graduating class was about 1,400 or so. Since then they have opened a new high school so it has only 3,000 students.

Yupp Hickman... You're right, it isn't the largest in the nation... But I've heard many times that it is the largest in Missouri and in either the top 5 or 10 largest in the nation... I'm not really sure on the facts. I just know its extremely overcrowded and that we're the only school in the nation with a naked baby (kewpie) as a mascott.. :( We've overcome that though... Are the schools with 3000 and 4000 students out of 3 grades like hickman is? we only have grades 10-12.

When did your friends go to Hickman? If it was in the last 4 years, its quite possible that I know them too! :D

My graduating class (1991) was about 325 people.

when my mom graduated from hs in philadelphia, her class had 3,000 . i kid you not. i asked her about yearbooks and she said that only seniors were in the yearbook

We had about 500 in a school with 2500 students. I knew OF almost all of them, but only KNEW about 50 of them, and was close friends with only 3 of them. I had more friends who were freshman, sophomores, and juniors when I was a senior.

I have graduated from a large school. There were over 400 graduates in 2001. There were 2,000 students at my high school.

My high school was the second largest in the area & my graduating class was close to 400! We had about 1800 students total.

graduating high school class was 789 when i graduated...now it will be over 1000 for both of my younger brothers!

Graduating class in HS was less than 400. Thank goodness for that b/c it made the graduation ceremony short & sweet unlike my sisters with almost 1000 seniors graduating on a hot day.

I believe my graduating class in 1994 had approximately 310 students. We had about 1200 kids at my school.

Hmm, I graduated from a pretty big HS. When I was a senior, the incoming freshmen class was like 700+. My senior class was 545, but I think only like 520 something graduated.

DC_Zeta1920 11-27-2005 07:49 PM

I am astounded at these numbers  Mine was considerably smaller.

I can honestly say that was the same thing with me. Out of everyone in my class, I was only cool with maybe 5 people (and out of that 5, one happens to be my line sister) and the rest were juniors and sophomores.

Ouch. Some of you graduated with classes larger than my entire high school. I graduated in a class of about 230, with a grade 9-12 student body of about 900.

I had friends and associates from across all years. Most of my friends were other AP/honors students, but I met a lot of people through choir and track, each of which spanned all four years and included a good cross-section of the student body.

A friend of mine went to a very small high school; her graduating class was about 26 or so. This HS had always had 100% of students continue to college (not necessarily 4-year college, but everyone at least went to community college). A classmate of hers had planned to go straight to work. The administration begged him (!) to consider at least going to community college, because if he didn't, it would mean they'd have a 96% rate of college attendance rather than 100%.

Wow, my HS population was about 800 and my graduating class was 120.

ejbiff 11-27-2005 10:05 PM

My graduating class was 296. The school used to be a lot bigger in population, like when my dad went there. I don't know what it's like now since I graduated in 98 and my brother went to a different one.
