Haha I saw her post about the denim skirt and I was like  , that's so crazy I can't imagine a wedding with bridesmaids wearing denim skirts. But hey, it's the bride's special day and if she wants denim skirts then more power to her. :)

I've got 5 weddings so far this summer. No idea what to wear.
I'm singing in one of them, but I don't have to wear anything specific.....any ideas?
Some are night weddings, others are afternoons.....

I was going to suggest that you not wear a denim skirt, but 33girl has a good point there!!

Wear whatever looks flattering and feels comfortable - because ya never know who you might meet!;)

My sister's a bridesmaid, and she's wearing a demin skirt. I want to look cute, because you never know who I'll run into ;) but don't want to upstage the bridal party. I'm not sure what the bride is wearing. Plus, I think it's in poor taste to not dress up for a wedding. The wedding is in a church, and the reception is in the social hall, so I'm guessing no alcohol.

What should I wear???

PS-I didn't get my own invitation to this wedding either, but I'm ok with that.

It sounds like a casual wedding, so really-- anything's going to go. If you want to dress up, wear a dress you'd wear on a slightly dressier date out.

Ann Taylor Loft has a ton of great dresses and skirts on sale, I've been going crazy in there. :)

Also, for the GC ladies who are plus-sized, I just bought my mom a really cute skirt at an Elizabeth (Liz Claiborne) store in Minnesota - the stuff in their stores is SO much cuter than the stuff in department stores!

Right-o, I'll just go ahead and do that on my six-figure copy editor salary. ;)

I would say wear dressy pants (like the kind of pants you could wear to work and then go to a club in and not look stupid) and a cute top. The only way you could not upstage the bridal party is sweats or pajamas.

Silly me, I was going to say Only in West Virginia! Jess_pom, you have GOT to post some photos of this wedding - I've never heard of denim in a "real" wedding (I'm not counting the Harley wedding about which I was told!)!!!

Here's my dilemma: The wedding I'm going to is going to be at the country club, no church/temple first, and even though I've asked a gazillion times, I've gotten NO hint as to whether it's formal/informal, or whatever. I will know the bride & her father (and mr. honeychile, who will know only me), but I know I'm being counted upon to make a decent appearance.

My hints that it's somewhat formal are: the choice of menu (filet mignon & lobster OR "chicken frambroise"), the elegance of the invitation, and of course, the club. The hint that it's informal is that the bride has "elegant-informal" on all of her bridal registeries for her style.

I'm thinking classic linen dress with nice jacket? What say the fashion gurus of GreekChat?

I hate linen because of the way it wrinkles! I'm sure you can pull it off, though...

I think if it were me I'd be tempted to wear a solid-colored sheath dress with one of the little fitted jackets that are everywhere lately.

Hubby is in a wedding this summer and I need a new dress. These are the details I have on the wedding.

It is a Casual Elegant wedding at 7:00pm in New Orleans. I know some of it is contradictory so, help....

BTW, I wear a 6 or an 8...

make sure that it isn't white, some may consider this a faux pas. I learned that the hardway at my friend's wedding. She was pissed that my veil was cuter.

So I have an outdoor wedding to go to in a couple of weeks, and I know we talked about white dresse, but, what about a strapless white calf length dress with a black ribbon around the bodice(well, empire-waist style) and black velvety detailing on the front/side of the hem? Crap. They have it in dark pink too, it just wasnt as cute and summery. I also STILL need to find a LIGHT BLUE bridesmaid dress for another pretty informal/outdoor wedding. And do you know how HARD it is to find light blue????

I take it you're the only maid and that's why you're finding your own dress?

What time is the wedding? I would put more emphasis on the food, location, time as to how the wedding will be vs. what is on her bridal registries (I am normally an elegant-informal person, but my wedding was VERY formal).

I love this Ann Taylor dress right now, and they have a cute wrap sweater that matches it...

So I'm going to SEVEN weddings this year, all friends of my boyfriend...and the first wedding we are going to presents the first wardrobing issue. It's at a very conservative Lutheran church, and it's the pastor's son (my boyfriend's cousin). His fiancee has been married before so because of that they are just having hors d'eouvres in the church fellowship hall afterwards rather than a full reception. The wedding is at 5 pm, and the church is in my hometown but I don't know any members. WTF am I supposed to wear?
