lastpoetnsite: I like your analogy, but I wonder if men (especially college educated, professional men) are really seen as needing a Chickenhead rather than someone more their counterpart--like the fine, classy women in the above posts. And if asked, I think most men would probably cite their mother as anything but a Chickenhead, rather she would probably be exalted as a model example by which all other women should follow. In fact fellas, if you're out there, weigh in.

When we were in college, the unspoken rule was you could date any frat man except a Que. So we dated the others officially and messed around with the Ques- it was soooo much fun. But that was sooo long ago, thanks for the memories guys http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Apparently "Thuggish" doesn't mean the same thing to everybody; so why don't we rejump this with a definition of thuggish from the people that respond to this question. Does having the heart to respond violently make one a thug? Or havin' some kinda way to "come up"? What makes a brutha a Thug?

Yall still didn't answer my question either. Have yall ever DESERVED a smack, slap, beatdown, whatever? I'm not asking how hard yall are.

I don't think I ever deserved any of that cause I don't do stuff like: slash tires, key cars, etc (people shoot these days about they car)..and an argument is just that an argument...however I have been with friends when they poured syrup and a bunch of gooky stuff all over the inside of this boys car. It was funny to see his reaction later but he wasn't laughing.

I ain't answer because this is a loaded question, really. What woman is going to say, "I deserved that beatdown?" I feel like this, if I hit him, I'm asking to be hit back. ONCE. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif To me, if a woman is bad enough to hit a dude, she better be able to hold her own, or she shouldn't have hit him. I don't hit dudes, period. I'm well aware that 9 times out of ten, he can over power me.

I agree, we need a definition of THUG (which I asked for in my original post, but ok, lol).

I grew up in the projects but my friends who grew up on the other side of the fence like "thuggish" men also. I must be honest. I like "thuggish" guys. I don't mean some one who is gangstafied, tries to act hard all the time or mean just some one who can be a bit of a tough guy when necessary and can hold his own but laid back and chill when we are together. Their being "thuggish" does not mean that they cannot speak grammatically correct, aren't college educated or professional.

Ditto....My man is smart, funny, intelligent, a bit of a nerd (he watches the History channel for fun for goodness sake!), and in love with the Lord. I know that if push came to shove he would defend me and him, but he is not stupid, so if it means giving up the car or walking away from a situation he will do it. He is comfortable around multidegreed professional folks and my cousins from around the way that I am just waiting to read about in the paper. He is NOT a thug or even a little "thuggish".

I understand different strokes for different folkes but why would someone need to fight. I have not gotton in a fight since grade school 4th grade.... and I went to school with a lot of so called thugs ( male and female)...... Why not walk away and be the better person, who cares what anyone else thinks. I really don't understand why adults would fight......

Can someone MAYBE enlighten me?
