it was pretty low budget, extra features cost money

i'm sure they didn't exclude subtitles and captions to exclude those who don't speak english or have hearing problems.

Going Greek Background

This film was filmed at UC Riverside (school scenes/football game) and USC (house scenes and party scenes) in September of 2000.

In the library scene, you may have noticed that has been in the movie Boys and Girls with Claire Forlani (the UC Berkeley Library scene)

All the people you see in the cafeteria scene, outside of the dorm scene etc, are actually students of UC Riverside...

If you don't believe me, here are some photos from my webpage that show we were there when they filmed the cafeteria scene and also the one where Jake walks into the large lecture hall (very steep btw) with the kegs attached to his legs. If that lecture hall looked rather familiar, it was the focus of the last scene in "Slackers"

http://www.geocities.com/sniff009/Mo...ed_at_UCR.html

As you all know the football game did not look very good because many people were away getting ready for Midterms and Thanksgiving break. During that scene, other than the guy that had a speaking part, they used brothers from Kappa Alpha Order.

My guys thought it was hilarious. We were actually pretty surprised that they chose UC Riverside. I wish it was shot better though. I found myself in one scene and my old roommate in another, which came out kinda weird.

Rumors had the movie budget at about 1 million dollars.

As a UC Riverside student, I found it ironic, because A. Our Greek Popluation is not very high :-( B. We do not have a Greek Row and C. We don't have a football team :-(

Lol, news flash, you're not my sister.

Play like a grown up and don't call people names and we won't have any issues.

Hey not to be whatever, but if you are both Kappa Delta's...you might want to think about keeping your spats private because it kind of reflects poorly on your org. If one of you is not a KD...disregard my post :)

kddani 04-25-2004 11:08 PM

lol, nope, she's not a KD, hence why I said she's not my sister.

that movie was friggin hillarious. just bc it shows the stereo types and what not doesnt mean it is a bad movie. not everyone is that "typica frat boy/ sororawhore" so i dont see what the big deal with this movie is.

oh yea and speaking of "sororawhore" has anyone gotten that thing going around saying i am a sororiwhore and then goes on to say that i do this and i have that, like i only wear steve maddens and carry kate spade bags and i only sleep with fraternity guys and i bag on your house and things like that? my sorority found it funny, bc it is sooo not us.

Yes. Why do you think fraternities are time after time associated with "the Animal House image"? Stereotypes gotta start somewhere.

However, I do agree the movie is hillarious.

Question: Is your sorority (Sigma Nu Phi?) a local?

I just discovered that Sikes directed and wrote this movie . . . .

I saw the movie. Definately awesome. There must have been a bunch of greeks involved in making it. I saw a cross and crescent drawn in one sceen. I'd recomend it for a good cheap laugh.
