The distinction between the terms was also discussed in this thread. :)

Thats because they didn't pay the extra . or admit to it . . . I know someone that runs an escort service.

Just some more food for thought. Not all escorts provide sex, or anything sexual for that matter. A lot of times it's dinner dates with execs.

They're all a bunch of two bit whores. come on people.

The reason prostitution is not legalized is not a moral issue. It has to do with what crimes accompany prostitution. With an escort that does outcalls, that crime is often not there or a lot less of a problem so people don't complain to the pigs as much.

What's the difference between the two? I always thought of an escort as a prostitute that travelled with the client, and usually involved a lot more money.
With an escort, you are paying for her time and her company. She is under no obligation to sleep with or perform sexual favors for the client. If she likes him, sex may occur, but sex isn't included in the price.

No, I haven't hired a prostitute, because I don't particularly want a criminal record. If it were legal, sure I would hire one. Maybe more than one.

I think that escorts are just a better class of whores. They don't walk the streets, and don't dress sleazy, and they cost a lot more money.
So what can possibly be classy about renting one's sexual parts to a stranger with enough money?

Come on, people, in real life, prostitution isn't Pretty Woman!!

Please don't paraphrase me out of context. I didn't write, "classy." I wrote "better class," as in a higher socio-economic standing.

Exactly. For example, Britney Spears is not disgusting, but she is skanky. She would make an excellent escort.

I think if a guy hired an escort and a girl looking like Britney turned up the guy'd be unlikely to phone the agency and say "send me another, this one's a dud!". :p

In Japan, prostitution is actually legal. It is not considered adultery as long as you are not in love with the person and it is merely for sex. Along other Eastern philosophies, there's the Tantra and Taoism. Tantra from India and Taoism from China. These early groups believed in the rights of Sacred Sexuality. Similarily, Alchemist groups that were around the 1st and 2nd centuries of Christianity believed in this practice as well. Some of these beliefs were believed to have transcended from ancient Egypt. These types of groups have been chastised and deemed as heretics since their existence. They have been "Killed off" numerous times including around the dark ages. Their beliefs couldn't be completely amortized. These groups eventually reformed, through secret societies of this interest, and migrated throughout Europe in places like Germany, London, Paris, and eventually made way to the state of New York around the Baroque era. These groups are known to practice Massive Orgies and embrace sexuality. ~Boodleboy322
