I have a B.S. in elementary education, a MLS (master of library science), and a Ph. D. in library science. I'm an elementary school librarian. I have also done some teaching at the college level, but the money is better in the public schools (go figure)

But I really want to be an actress!!! (well, I'd like to make money at it. Community theatre doesn't really pay)

Sorry, but in your own mind, Da!

Sounds Like a BS In BS!

Tinydancer, I feel your pain. I too have a doctorate--as well as a master's and bachelor's (all 3 in horticulture)--and can get paid about $20K more for teaching secondary school than I can teaching college.

I'm not teaching hort--I'm teaching Spanish, which I'm ABD in--but paywise, it doesn't matter in the public schools. If you can pass the rough certification tests to teach in GA, you get the salary commensurate with your highest degree.

I at one time wanted to be a Instructor, College only!

Thank god I changed My Major!

Fuc*ing Thank You ACLU, You Fu*ks!

DAMN THOSE CIVIL LIBERTIES.

I'm getting a double in Economics and Political Science, then it's off to law school for me so I can lobby for small-minded people to not have internet connections. :D

My B.A. is in English.

Edited for Spelling:p

I also have a B.A. in English. I am about 1 year away for getting a 2nd bachelor's in Early Childhood education. Can't make up my mind if I want to teach, go to grad school for library science, or get a degree in human resources management.

Currently I am an admin assistant

Political Science; worked in politics for a few years before I got burned out on it.

Now, I do custom high-end A/V installations.

winnieb 03-26-2004 10:56 PM

I have a BSBA-finance and an MBA-finance.
I am working as an cost accountant and inventory management for a manufacturing company. So technically I am not using my degrees as accounting and finance are two different worlds.

DeltAlum 03-26-2004 11:01 PM

I have a BSC -- Bachelor of Science in Communications (Radio-TV Production emphasis), and minors in Political Science and English.

Have worked as a DJ, TV Announcer, TV Director (15 years) doing live news and sports events, nearly 20 years in TV production management -- 14 for NBC, and now I work for a company that builds video facilities.

Guess I used my degree.

I have a B.S. in Occupational Therapy and almost completed a Master's in Clinical Psychology (but my daughter came along instead). I worked as an OT for 13 years on mental health units (primarily adolescent) but then I got some certifications and I'm working in IT now as a LAN Systems Analyst. I haven't decided what to do with my next career!

I have an BA degree in Economics w/Business Emphasis, I currently work for a financial institution dealing with retirement plans. I'm intending to go back for my MBA since my company will pay for part of it, but that also means I'm committed to the company for 2 years.
