I miss it too. I have a Greek Alumni Alliance meeting the Saturday of the Olympics and apparently there also going to have food for us alums (and the college kids) by the DZ triangle, so I think I might stick around for that and to watch the Olympics for a little bit. That was always such a fun day. Jumping in the lake was always freezing cold, I don't miss that part, or the lake sludge. At least it was for a good cause!

OK, I'm back from spring break! ;)
Monday will be the BBQ, all pairings need to show up with their letters in the central campus for free BBQ. Will post the updates for it. SigKapQueen, the Wo/Man of the year will be announced at the VESPERS ceremony, at the end of Greek Week next week. I forgot, the theme of this year is, "Many Chapters, One Book: the Greek Week 2004 Epics" |
We try this new event this year for our Greek Week:
"The Greek Story" (from the rulebook) All pairings must participate in the creation of a Greek story. The pairing story board must be displayed in front of the designated chapter house on Monday, March 22nd, by 7:00 am. The story will be collaborated via email. Chapters will be given prompts by Greek Week Central and must create their own continuation of the story. Prompts will start to be given on February 16th and be forwarded daily, including the weekends, until February 29th. This is to be in either a phrase or sentence form, being no longer than 3 sentences. If a prompt is not turned in within 24 hours after being contacted, spirit points will be deducted from the pairings total and a prompt will be given to the pairing by Greek Week Central. A 4’by 8’ piece of plywood provided by the chapters, split into two 4’ by 4’ pieces and hinged in the center is to be used. Construction of the story board can begin on Sunday, February 29th (pairing’s letters should be included on the story board). Judging will be based on creativity of the story board and wording used. Any wording deemed inappropriate, i.e. references to alcohol or insinuating material will be grounds for disqualification. The top five pairings will receive points for their participation. |

Good luck on "Man of the Year" The only name on the list I recognize is Leigh's because I believe she's the current CPC President, correct? I'm curious about the Greek Story thing, sounds like an interesting idea. Do the chapters still decorate for spirit as well? |
Lip Sync was tonight, and the top six pairings made the first cut (in no particular order):
Alpha Delta Pi, Farmhouse, Alpha Kappa Lambda Delta Delta Delta, Sigma Pi, Acacia Kappa Kappa Gamma, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Kappa Sigma Alpha Gamma Delta, Lambda Chi Alpha, Theta Delta Chi Delta Zeta, Delta Tau Delta, Delta Upsilon Pi Beta Phi, Phi Delta Theta, Beta Theta Pi |
Yay! GO Kappa! :D :p
So, since things have probably been changed a bit, what events are at the Greek Olympics on Saturday? And is Greek Getaway still held then? |
Greek Gateaway is held this weekend, and due to Cy basketball game tonight, the second cut of Lip Sync is cancelled. All six pairings will perform in front of potential members in CY Stephens (!!!) on Friday, and the Olympics are still on Saturday, with VESPERS ceremony on Sunday. Weather-wise, should be another perfect day for Olympics on Saturday, with possibility of high of upper 60s and lower 70s, so yay for plungers! :D
Not much changes in Olympics, we tried to bring back Milking Cows competition, which used to be a long Greek Olympics tradition that died down in 1999, but due to safety hazard, we can't do that. Darn it! We should do Cow Tipping instead! |
Oh, and I like Kappa's skit. Everyone dresses up like older women (including all men), and have the book society club. One of the best I've seen this year, so good luck for Kappa!
|
So??? How did everything turn out yesterday? At least it wasn't raining all day!
GOOD LUCK TONIGHT AT VESPERS!! :D |

Well, rats. The results aren't exactly surprising, but I'm glad everything went well! :) Congrats to all the winners!
I think when we were paired with Delts and DU's we placed third overall, too. :) |
