When my friends and I go out and get kinda sloppy drunk, everyone acts like we're these alcoholic, out-of-control sluts......yet when the guys I know get all piss drunk, everyone's like, "Hell yeah man, you rock!!!" Double standards suck. |

I'm shy but I have a sharp tongue. I can be pretty sarcastic. And I've had so many ppl tell me they thought I was a snob until t hey got to know me. ETA: My parents pay for school, rent, etc BUT I also feel the need to work so that I can reduce whatever they're paying. It's a lot. SO people ASSume I'm rich. It's not that I'm richer than anyone, it's just my family's priorities are somewhat different because of our culture. In addition, I guess I'm somewhat prissy so people seem to think I'm an airhead. Ummm - how about NOT - I have a degree in computer science and I'm getting my Master's now thank you. Because I like to shop and talk about clothes does not mean that's all there is. I do happen to do fashion design so CLEARLY you will hear about clothes. I refuse to apologise for being a girly girl. In the same vein, I won't hesitate to put furniture together, paint a house etc. I just don't care for sports. SO SUE ME!!!!! This part is a good thing somewhat. I'm young so when people find out, they tend to respect me more because I'm already in grad school. Funny thing is I know a lot of people like me (it's because of where we were raised). Bad part - people think I must be dork if I'm my age and have a degree in Computer Science. That is until they meet me. When they do meet me, they're shocked that I had any interest in CS. |
Most people think I'm a pushover. And I am. I always get asked to do the things no one else wants to do. And I do them. Maybe I'm too nice.

Yeah, me too. ...and because my parents pay for everything dealing with school/sorority. I have a job for spending money. I'm not a spoiled brat. My parents just happen to have the money to support me through college!! |
Actually, and I probably shouldn't admit this, but I'm almost two years out of college and the parents still help out--a little. They pay for my groceries and cell phone, sometimes miscellaneous other things such as when my car needed a $200 repair......I do work full-time, but as an entry-level journalist working in Appalacia, I don't get paid squat. But some of the people I know from lower-middle backgrounds whose parents can't afford to help out at all really think I'm a rich, spoiled brat. Oh well.
