I'm sort of annoyed at #15. Bubbler in MA? No way, it's totally an RI thing not a MA thing.

um ACTUALLY I've lived in MA my whole life and I've always called it a "bubbler." It's definately a southeastern MA-Cape Cod/ RI thing. I didn't hear "drinking fountain" until I went to a competition in Western/Northern MA and they thought I was nuts for calling it a bubbler.

Most of my answers were common to the midwest, so i guess the midwest is more dixie than yankee

Me too....my mom must have raised me up a true midwesterner (here in not-so-sunny California!) :D

My results:
53% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

Optimist Prime 02-20-2004 09:35 PM

48% Yankee

AlphaSigOU 02-20-2004 10:24 PM

63% Dixie, from many years 'behind enemy lines'. But there are occasions where I'll get my New Yawk accent up... :)

AXJules 02-20-2004 10:26 PM

50% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

Wha? I've never been anywhere else!!!!

navane 02-20-2004 10:34 PM

How bizarre!

My score:

100% (Dixie). Is General Lee your father?

I was born and raised in Southern California.....my mother was from Gary, Indiana and my father is from Chicago, Illinois! I sound nothing like a "Dixie" Southerner! I am confused!

Then again, San Diego technically *is* the most south and west you can get as far as the US mainland goes.....maybe that's what they mean by "Southern"? Southern California ??

.....Kelly :)

64% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

Southern as in SoCal? 'cause that's where I was born and raised!

CatStarESP4 02-20-2004 10:39 PM

45% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

I thought it would be at least 50% since I was born and raised in the Northeast.

AXO_MOM_3 02-20-2004 11:44 PM
