OK, so I'm already married to the guy, but since I'm finally getting involved in Greek life (in one way or another) he thought it would be appropriate.

Most 30+-year-olds think this is NBD, but I'm giddy!

Congrats!!! I can see how that would be exciting for you :)

I have a first date with a guy this Friday... we'll see how long I can keep him around... I definitely don't want to spend my Valentines Day with the people I've spent it with the past couple of years.

I'm going out of town for sure. As to where I'm going I have two options and I havent decided on which one to choose yet.

My boy and I don't celebrate Valentine's day. As our first V-day was approaching (almost 6 years ago, ack!), I told him that I didn't want to celebrate it; he was so thrilled with me when I said that. His birthday is in October, my birthday is in November, Christmas is in December, and our anniversary is in March, so there are way too many holidays right in a row. Also, I think V-day is pretty stupid because of the commericalization and because all it does is make everyone feel bad—single people because they don't have someone to share it with and attached people because they have to worry about what to do for each other.

I've been checking my Orbitz deal detector for some good fares...so we'll see. Wondering what others plans are??
I might check out Orbitz for some Valentine's day special hotels rates here in Cleveland.

Okay this might sound cheesy to some of you but I think its cute. My mom, dad, Mike, and I are all going out together on the 13th for dinner together.

My guy is cooking me dinner on Valentine's Day. We were going to go out to eat, but it's so much more fun to cook and spend quality time together in the house then to fight the rush of people celebrating at restaurants. We don't really do the presents thing, but you never know! :) I might get a little crazy and plan a surprise for later that evening...but he has to be nice! ;)

I am working and then finding some single people to get b-o-m-b-e-d with.

This is the first V-day I'll have been single in 3 years and the first one since GPBoy died. I will be drowning my sorrows with Pierre, Jack, Jim, and anybody else who wants to help.

One of my best guy friends and I are going to dinner then out to drink!!!! We are "celebrating being single" O well, it will be fun anyway. I am just sad the guy I really like can't take me out for complicated reasons. Grrrr-never get involved with someone from work!!!!! I hope everyone else here has a great v-day though!!!

I word. SLEEP!!!

CatStarESP4 01-31-2004 09:45 PM

I will likely stay at home. If I have to go out, I will avoid people. Definitely wearing black!

Going to a Mason Jennings show with my girls.

One of us is trying to be distracted from asshole exes (um, hi, that would be me), another just broke up with her boyfriend because of distance issues and the third cosiders Mason to be her boyfriend. So yeah. After that we're doing girls' night stuff which may or may not involve getting trashed and bitching about men. It should be good.

Oh my......have I found my twin on here?

Several months ago I dated a guy from work, really liked him, and then he just blew me off and I never found out why. Well, he told my best friend Friday night that he almost got back together with his ex and that's why he just disappeared, but that he still really likes me and wants to date me. But that can't happen, because.....

He slept with another girl from work, who also happened to be out with us that night, and who happens to have a major thing for him. We all came back to my apartment and my best friend said the two of them got into a huge fight (I was passed out by that point) and she was almost crying, demanding to know how he could sleep with her and not like her. It's horrible. If I hated this girl, I might go after him regardless, but I like her. So it's just not in the cards, at least right now.

What happened with you?

By the way Aurora......V.D. for Valentine's Day.....that is too funny......

Aww. See, thats why most men suck. Nope, with mine its a "We can't technically date" because of our positions at work, but we kinda have been but NO ONE knows, so when we are at work, or with our friends we have to pretend there is nothing going on, which sucks. anyway, he can't take me out since we are not supposed to be together. wow, its even more than that but way to much for this thread.

So I am now getting ALL my single friends together to go out. we are up to 6 now!!
Does anyone have any attached friends who feel bad or left out cause they are going on a date instead of with you and your guys/gals?? Well I do. and i feel bad.
