You make a good point sphinxpoet!!!! The same goes for grad as well (sometimes they need the MOST pledging!)

I would up hold the responsibility that I have stated that I can and will!!
That standard would go straight across the board regardless of the chapter.

I found this thread while researching. This a good question considering recent events. I'm wondering has anyone's views changed? Interests are told to do the right thing. Should the same motto apply to members as well?

My reply would remain the same...

I would still do it. The welfare of my illustrious organization is more important than someone's selfish plans.

And in light of the recent events, I hope my Sorors would do so as well.

Our rules are rules and aren't meant to be broken. If you don't like the 'way' we do things.....then join another organization! Or better....pay your dues, get active (physically), run for national office......and MAKE THAT CHANGE!

God bless!

Yes I would in a heartbeat. I am a grad advisor and I've reported members to the University and on another time, I reported them to the Regional Director which led to some of them being expelled. I'll do it again and would hope anyone else would too.

I didn't read all the replies yet . . .

But I think it would have a lot to do with my relationship with the chapter. If it was an excellent relationship and I thought I could take steps to change things on my own, I would try.

I would just document like hell everything I was doing and have a definite time frame. And all the bullshit would stop immediately and they would be closesly monitored.

If that couldn't happen I would turn them in with conditions and recomendations. After all in a situation like that we are the on site evaluators so we might be able to help HQ make better decisions . . .

I don't know if that helps.

A bad relationship, would mean I would turn them in because there would be no trust or communication.
