I'm with jharb here. I do it when it feels right. Maybe that's within five minutes (okay, not really, I do wait longer than that!) and maybe that's never.

Honeychile: I love the phrase "genital handshake!" :)

Why would he be kidding? If she is experienced sexually and her body is telling him that she wants sex but for some reason keeps him waiting and waiting . . . she is obviously playing some game, manipulating him, or has a hang up or something.

Although those are definite warning signs that you are not dealing with mature person with a firm grasp of their emotional stability.

Run away men run away . . .

Actually, I think you're mistaken. I think HE would be the immature individual, who see's sex as the only reason to be in a relationship.

Run away from these kind of men ladies, run away run.

No no no no . . . he as already taken you out on dates. had conversations, hung out shown that he is interested in you. . . what you are saying is that you want to manipulate him with physical intimacy. Thats fine with me, but lets call a spade a spade shall we?

so by thinking that a guy who says he was going to drop his girlfriend if she didn't have sex with him after 2 weeks of measly dating is a d*ck, i am "manipulating" him with sexual intimacy? GIVE ME A BREAK! 2 weeks is chickenshit. if he cant wait more then 2 freaking weeks and simply just enjoy your company instead of constantly pining for sex, give me a break. he is NOT worth it, definitly not, not worth it.

I agree with AOCutiePi-if some guy ever gave me a time limit-I would drop him like a bad habit. I will not be given ultimatums. The key word is respect...give the other person enough respect to let them decide when they feel ready. Pretty much, if you have to ask for it, then the relationship is already over (even if she/he gives in and does it).

What about the girls that have "minimum time's" that they wat to have sexual intercourse? I wager there are more women in this category than males in the former.

Speaking of ultimatums, I wonder how many women give MEN ultimatums with respect to marriage -- you know, the old "give me a ring or it's over" thing? I bet those are often the same women who would be pissed off if presented with an ultimatum regarding sex.

Anyway, I don't see the point of waiting. To me, getting into a relationship before having sex is like buying a car without test driving it. What's the point?

James 12-31-2003 02:17 AM

Val, I think you should write a book, teach a class and do other things to preach your viewpoint to women everywhere :D

I'm gonna have to go with Rudy on this one. Its Poontang. If you watch South Park with closed captioning on, whenever Mr. Garrison talks about this, its spelled, "poontang." What greater authority is there about the English language than a cartoon?

If men were the ones to get pregnant, then how long would they wait?

Dee

Reading this post and then the one in News & Politics about parenting being a right or privilege is humorous!

cash78mere 12-31-2003 12:32 PM

it's definitely poontang!

That's really what this is about; the economics of biology. Eggs, and the woman's committment, are resource intensive (expensive.) Sperm is cheap. Theoretically, a man can get multiple women pregnant every day. Day after day. Women can handle one pregnancy every 9 months plus the time of lactation needed to support the infant, (my understanding is that it is very difficult for a woman to get pregnant while lactating) and that can easily add up to every 15 months. Even if its every 9 months, that is a lot longer than every 6-12 hours.

There is probably a biological instinct in women to make sure that the horizontal bop is worth the potential of pregnancy.
