My mother did have another heart attack. She's at the hospital, and Praise the Lord, my brother is with her. He's a fighter, and he'll be much better at getting her the help she needs right now, with the drugs & all.

Praise the Lord that my mama's a fighter, too!

Please forgive me if I sound distracted, but I am a wreck.

I'm so sorry Honey. You are in my prayers.

ADPiSAI 02-10-2004 06:33 PM

Honey, I'll be praying for your mama... I really hope that she'll be ok. My dad is going to his deaconate class tonight, and I asked him to have them all pray for her too.

honeychile 02-10-2004 06:39 PM

Thank you, thank you, everyone! *tears* This is just so hard.

One weird thing is, I was watching the early news, and they were saying that women tend to have heart attacks differently than men - and the symptoms they gave are identical to my mama's:

Dizziness
Indigestion
Nausea
Difficulty breathing
"Heartburn"

No chest pains, no pain in the arm. Just think, if we had heard that two-three weeks ago!! PLEASE tell any of the women in your lives who tend towards high blood pressure or other high risk patterns!! If this saves one more person (and my mama!), I'll feel that certainty that "all things work together for good!!"

Thank you all for your prayers! My mama is going to have a heart catheterization around 2-3pm, and we're hoping that they don't find anything nasty. I'm really hoping that she just having complications from the med changes.

All these years in geratric counseling, and now I'm living it!

WLFEO 02-11-2004 02:25 PM

Please let us know how it goes, Honey! I'll be praying............

Just got home, and I'm going to be going to bed fairly soon. My mama will have a three-way bypass tomorrow at 6:30am. We are just keeping her (and her surgeon, Dr. Woefel) bathed in prayer. I'll post an update once I'm home tomorrow night. God bless each & every one of y'all for standing in the gap for her (and the rest of us!!)!!!

Yes, definitely group hug time! ;)

I called my mother tonight and she told me to keep my uncle in my prayers. He has been having pain and numbness in his shoulder and had to be rushed to the hospital today. My mom is a nurse (and so is my aunt), they think it could be a tumor...that is so scary! Please pray for him...his name is Bill Fisher. Thanks Sistas!!

Duh- I forgot to add the most important part...he is going in for an MRI tomorrow.

I've stopped at my own house to get my mail, and then I'm returning to my mama's, so I can be with her dog.

Her heart is very weak. They had to do a 4-way bypass instead of three. They also have to keep her completely sedated, because the little bit that she was awake, she heard them discuss her condition and panicked. We can only see her for 10 minutes every two hours, and not until tomorrow. She has two private nurses in the Cardiac ICU, and other special "goodies". The first 24 hours will be critical.

I wish I could tell you that I'm holding up well. I'm not - me, the strong one, the one who never cries. I've had two major meltdowns and have fainted. (How belle-like!) Anyhow, if you're familiar with the 91st Psalm, you know how in the last part, the Lord talks directly to you? I wrote that out, as a conversation between the Lord and my mama, and they have it taped to her bed so she can see it. We've always referred to it as her psalm, as it's her favorite. I've been singing that song, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty..." so I can drive.

I'll try to post more, hopefully on a better note, from my mama's. I need to see to Buffy.

My mama & brother send their love and thanks for all the prayers. We covet each and every one of them, and I truly love my sisters!! God bless you ALL!!
