Jill,
I love your dress. I really like that style and wouldn't mind trying something like that for myself. I'm also drawn to a lot of Princess Mary dresses, especially her Unspoken Romance collection (www.marysbridals.com) since I can't seem to figure out how to insert pictures into Greek chat here are some style numbers I like if you visit their website #F035169, F986861 (I especially liked the back of this one just get rid of the big bow) There are others I liked bits and pieces of. I'm a very large woman so what I will probably do is find a seamstress and have the dress made. That way I can pick and choose the sleeves, skirt, top, etc from different patterns and see if I can combine them into the dress I want. I don't really like sleeveless dress either. I do want a low neckline such as a sweetheart or v-neck. Dress has to be white. I will definitely get married in my church, going to have lots of candles and want to have a family member from both families walk down the aisle to light the two altar candles that we will then use to light the unity candle - signifying the joining of the two families into one. My favorite flower is freesia so I want to incorporate those in to my flowers. But of course I want to put in the American Beauty Rose in to my bouquet somehow - even though it is difficult to find florist that can get that flower. I want to have my bridesmaids get something they can wear again. I was thinking maybe black skirt (that can later be shortened to wear more cocktail style) and a separate top that can be used on it's own too. Music, I really like Pachelbels Cannon and want that for the bridesmaids to walk down. I love John Denver's "For you" and would like that played at the wedding. Also, I love From this Moment (the duet version) and kind of want that played. On my 5 year anniversary I want to go up to the California Redwoods to a tourist place called Trees of Mystery and do a renewal of our vows at the Cathedral Tree. This has got to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. On my 10 year anniversay I want to do a renewal of vows at Disneyland or Disneyworld. Oh well, this is all still dreaming.....someday I'll find the right man. |
Well, I don't really have any dresses I've really looked at, but I do know where I want to hold it at. The Tampa Theater It's this movie palace built in the mid-twenties, and it's amazingly beautiful. You can't see it in the photos on the website, but they have "stars" in the ceiling and the feel of an open air theater.I'm willing to bet it would lend itself nicely as a site for both a wedding and a reception.

You can see my wedding planning album here
There's pictures of my first fitting, potential hair styles, the reception site, bridesmaids dresses, etc. This picture wouldn't show up in my album, but this is what I want my cake to look like: http://store2.yimg.com/I/acaketoremember_1745_2221274 |
My dress and more!
I ordered my dress on Friday! I'm so excited to show it off (except FI or anyone who'll actually be at the wedding won't see it until the day of)
http://www.marisabridals.com/series10/509_front.jpg http://www.marisabridals.com/series10/509_back.jpg My sash will be ivory so there won't be as much color contrast, but since the dress is silk and the sash is taffeta, there's a difference in texture. It looks so pretty when its bustled all fluffy-like. I'm not going to wear a tiara (too trendy); instead I want a comb with flowers for my veil. All of my jewelry is family heirlooms, which makes it all extra special :) http://www1.davidsbridal.com/images/.../full/4502.jpg My bridesmaids dresses, except they'll be in a light blue. No gloves, because this is a daytime wedding. I'm toying with the idea of having them hemmed to tea length, even though this is a formal church wedding. BMs are going to carry small nosegays of daisies, hand tied with ribbon french braided in various shades of pale blue. My boquet is going to be cream roses with french braided ribbon in ivory to match my dress. I can't wait for my dress to get here! 4 months seems like forever! |
