I want dirty rotten sex with Christina Ageulera.

the birtney madona thing was HOT....serously fucking HOT!!

I thought this years awards were pretty good. That opening was awesome!!! I couldn't believe that kiss. It was funny hearing Christina sing after Britney on "Like a Virgin" cause she totally blew her out of the water. But I'm glad it wasn't JHo up there. An awrds show without her is so nice. Thank god that "I'm Glad" crap didn't win anything--stupid Flashdance rip off. I really liked X-tina's performance. She looked hot. Redman looked like he didn't know where the hell he was. Beyonce's entrance/dancing was cool, but I wasn't feelin the outfit. Why the bow? Just cause your Mama makes clothes, doesn't mean you have to wear them. Coldplay was great, Good Charlotte wasn't so good, 50 Cent's show just looked chaotic. And yeah he's dating Vivica Fox--WTF? The worst part of the show was all the corny lines they made the presenters say. Just give out the award. And Chris Rock was hilarious.

On a semi-related note, did anyone else notice that MTV began airing sorority and fraternity life commercials during the VMAs. They premiere on September 17th. Which of course, I am so looking forward to since it was taped on our campus and premieres just a week before our rush... I can't wait...

Starlet 08-29-2003 06:42 AM

The VMAs were pretty good this year overall, even though I felt like I was watching the Justin Timberlake show--not that I'm complaining because I like him. Coldplay was good; Christina wasn't that great in her solo performance and neither was Good Charlotte. I'm glad Missy Elliott won 2 awards because her "Work It" video is one of my favorites. Beyonce is beautiful, but she definitely didn't look that good tonight!

My VMA Comments

  • That kiss was such a ratings ploy. Sorry to all the horny guys out there, but it was weak.
  • Chris Rock's opening was great. I loved all the Ashton/Punk'd jokes, especially about Bruce Willis..."I got your kids!"
  • There were some really good performances this year, I'll give MTV that. I really enjoyed 50 Cent's set and also Mary J's. Although I liked Xtina's, I was expecting something more...well...dirty (pun intended). I thought she'd have water on stage and re-enact some of the "Dirrty" video or something. I didn't expect her to be so tame.
  • I think one of my favorite moments was Eminem with the Crank Yankers puppet. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! :) What would have been even funnier is if the puppet had show up in the middle of 50 Cent's performance and said "It's my birthday, Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! and 50 started singing "In Da Club."
  • Beyonce, stop trying to be J. Lo...she's been copying J. Lo's outfits and now she's copying her hair. Newsflash: It doesn't look good on either one of you!
  • The way they presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Duran Duran sucked. Okay, I know they were going for the element of surprise, but then it should have been a complete ploy and not presented the Dance award at all. Duran Duran is awesome...how are you going to give them a LAA, let them get over the shock and speak for about 30 seconds, and then play second fiddle to Justin receiving his award?!? TACKY!
  • I honestly was bored after the first hour and a half. The same handful of artists were up for every damn award (Em, 50, Beyonce, Coldplay, Justin, Missy). And not only that, but there were no unexpected moments, overly unusual sets, or crazy things happening like in previous years. I was really expecting MTV to go totally off the wall since it was the 20th VMA Celebration.

I'm sorry but I can not stand Brtiney and I felt bad that my girl Madonna kissed her. Yeah, I'm sure every guy thought it was uber hot, but Britney can't sing her way out of a paper bag and just like people say about J.Lo, any show without her is a winner for me (although I actually like some of J's stuff).
Whatever, It was really good gimmick, we're still talking about it now, so it will do it's part to move some albums when Britney finally gets done with her "break" and tries to make some more millions.

White_Chocolate 08-29-2003 10:20 AM

Why was Beyonce's album even in this category
That single hasn't even been out a year

I totally agree that Avril is the Brittney Spears of Pop Rock
(who the f- cares how her name is spelled cause i don't)

J-Lo nor Beyonce can sing
To people who didn't hear Beyonce before DC was famous
They use a machine to make her voice sound even
Her voice shakes like a motherf-er
The group only succeeded because they were pretty and she is actually a good writer
She just can't sing though

Christina got my vote hands down
Everyone I know agrees Christina would give anyone a run for her money

Justin was upset that he won an award over someone legendary

But who cares?
I'm sick of award shows

By the way, rappers grab their crotches because they wear baggy pants
And when they walk around, their pants fall down in the middle
So, crotch-grabbing is how they keep them up
As many 'ghetto fab' or 'thug' socials that GLOs put together
You should know the answer to that question by now

DeltaSigStan 08-29-2003 10:26 AM

Although I have no respect of Lars Ulrich, that Metallica closer kicked ass. That's all I watched.

That and the opener.........nice........

librasoul22 08-29-2003 10:27 AM

I liked this show.

Mary J's performance was AWESOME. I thought Beyonce's was too, so I will be the lone positive note in a sea of hate, lol.

I also liked Coldplay.

DITTO

We can call it why I lost all respect for Britney and Madonna. If they were at the top of their game and did that, thats cool, more power. But Brit's been on Hiatus for awhile now with a new album coming out, Madonna has become Madonna Who? With articles being written about she can't even sell a pair of Gap Khaki's anymore. So congrats to you two cheaply selling yourselves for some attention, maybe you could do something with your careers and get it legitmately without haveing to kiss to keep your careers from the downward spiral. :(
And thats all I have to say on that.

THANK YOU!!! Britney seems to think slutting up her image will sell more records and Madonna seems to think that going back to her old ways will perk up her career. All it did was appeal to some horny guys and make them both look stupid. It's not a big shocker for Christina to do something like that and her career isn't in the dumps anyway.
It was a bad idea to put Christina and Britney singing together because it just accentuates how Britney has NO singing talent. She sounds like a little kid trying to sound like Madonna

Peaches-n-Cream 08-29-2003 12:26 PM

Madonna and Christina and Brittney madeout. Take about attention whores!
