One reason that I try to remember is that, wherever you are, you are an ADPi Lady. It never changes, never goes away---it is a constant in your life. And sometimes we all need that.
ADPi sisters are always there for you, no matter where you are geographically. I know sisters that will give you a hug and a smile to encourage you, even if they are miles away.....that's what's great about GC ADPi's!!!!! |
Okay I don't really know why I didn't read this thread the first time :)
1. Alphie rocks!!!!!!! 2. Being the first sorority is amazing. 3. And as Leslie said, meeting your GC sisters in person is just incredible. I will forever treasure meeting Shannan, Leslie and Jennie and I CANNOT WAIT to meet tons more at convention!!!!! |
My top five reasons (not necessarily in order) I am blessed to be an ADPi:
1. We have, without a doubt, the prettiest mascot and colors! 2. You can wear letters and come across other ADPi's in the most unexpected places: on the ski lift in Ruidoso, New Mexico; in China!; and just gettin' a coffee at the local Starbucks! ADPi's ALWAYS say hi! 3. The heart of an ADPi is true blue and genuine! 4. Our founders were amazing women who were truly ahead of their time. They were among the first women in this country to go to college at the first college ever chartered to grant degrees to women. How brave they were to seek out an education for themselves in a world dominated by males. How smart they were to seek out and rely on the friendship and sisterhood of fellow women! 5. Our sisters encourage each other to be the best women we can be. Our sisters love us for our strengths and love us in spite of our weaknesses. Our sisters love each other unconditionally because We Live For Each Other!!!!! |
I agree wholeheartedly with everything that everyone has said! I am so proud to be an ADPi and there are just so many reasons!
-- We have an amazing sisterhood. This past year, one of my chapter sisters (and best friends) lost her aunt to cancer. ADPi got 3 teams together to do Relay For Life. During the luminary ceremony, they read her aunt's name, and she burst into tears. Every ADPi there gathered around her and we all just hugged. Pretty soon we were all crying because it's so good to know that even though we aren't all best friends, we are SISTERS, and we really do live for each other. -- We have a beautiful ritual and a beautiful pin. I love to wear my pin to chapter and know the meaning behind it! -- Our new member program is so well-rounded and inclusive! I love how we embrace our Alphas from the very beginning and let them be a part of it all! -- The leadership opportunities are endless. From holding a position, to being on Exec, to being a Pride leader, to being a Diamond Sister...we learn things that will help us in the future! -- Our philanthropy does such great things for children and their families all over the country. "The house that love built" ...couldn't be a better fit! From cleaning the house, to doing yardwork, to making dinner for the families, it's all so worthwhile and a great cause. -- We were the FIRST sorority...now that's something to be proud of! First and Finest! -- I see about 5 ADPis everytime I walk across campus...always someone to say hi to! -- We are so well-rounded and unique. I've already learned so much from my sisters! One lived in Germany and since my heritage is strongly German, we talk about it a lot! We have (at least) one girl who is Jewish and another one who is Muslim that gave an educational talk at chapter! So interesting! -- Another example of how we Live for Each Other...My Diamond Sister studied abroad in Spain second semester. While she was there, she had one of her good friends be my "adoptive" Diamond Sister and watch out for me! She sent me e-mails all the time to see what I was up to. Now I am going to Spain in a year and I already have a place to live. The host mom she stayed with has hosted many students from my school, most of them being ADPis. In fact, the Spanish host mom has requested that ADPis live with her! :) ....and so much more! Yay ADPi :D |

because your sisters are there for you no matter what!!!!
I came home from class last night and I saw that my puppy, Shelby, had destroyed the house. In the process she had destroyed two frames and the pictures inside them. They were pictures of me and Jennie (polarpi). I was devasted. I cried for almost thirty minutes. I managed to calm down a little until Jennie called and I started up again. Jennie was calm though. She asked me if they were the pictures we took at the A (at California Adventure) and the one from Sea World. I said yes and she said, I've copies I'll send you them. I then started crying cause I was happy. OMG I'm crying now. I give this story because I'm sure each and every sister can think of something another sister has done for them. And it's the little things that count!!! :) I love my sisters!!! |
