Convention

AOII's International Convention was held in June 2003 in Norfolk, VA. Next year we have Leadership Institute which is held in Nashville, TN (near our Headquarters) and in June 2005 our Convention will be held in Atlanta, GA!

AEPhi holds conventions in odd numbered years and summer leadership retreat/conference even numbered years. We had our convention last month in Falls Church, VA outside of DC and our convention in 2005 will be somewhere in Florida. I have no idea where our next summer leadership will be.

That sounds like fun - good luck with all the planning! :)

Here's a question for you: does your national DESIGNATE a host chapter?

With Kappa Sigma the plans are made by our Conclave Commission. They attempt to set our national convention in a fun atmosphere for guys (New Orleans, Vegas, Memphis, Tampa).

The host for Area Leadership Conferences (held on even years) I was told is always an area with a strong chapter base or up-and-coming base

Last year my Area conference was in Greenville, SC (we have strong chapters and new colonies there). I was told that next year our Area will be coming to Atlanta (strong alumni chapter, undergrad chapters (including mine), and a possible colony at Kennesaw State)

Just wanted to drop a quick note...

Only *3 days* until the SAI convention!

I'm meeting RedRoseSAI and Browneyedgal in 3 days (and lots of other SAIs too!!)

Since I am going by myself (I'm the delegate), I'm just gonna hang out with lots of SAIs that I meet. Can't wait!!!!!!!!

Beta Theta Pi's 164th Annual Convention in Oxford Ohio, on the Campus of Miami University - Beta's birthplace just concluded.

My Chapter, the Alpha Tau of Beta Theta Pi, won awards for Highest GPA in our region, highest GPA nationally, excellence in Recruitment, and Campus Involvement. We also won the Sisson Award for Chapter Accomplishment for the 8th consecutive year, and the John Reily Knox Award for Chapter Excellence for the 2nd consecutive year. The Knox Award is the highest award a chapter can recieve.

No we're not formally designated as host chapter, but since we're in town our Alumnae Association gets to help with some of the planning and making recommendations for activities and events.

With AGD, it probably depends on if there is an active alumnae/undergraduate chapter nearby. I've only been to the one in Atlanta.

One of the Atl. alumna was the "local coordinator" but from what I saw, IHQ had it pretty well under control, lol!! Everything boxed up when it came and boxed up when it left if it needed to! Forgive me for not knowing the IHQ convention "overseer" but I think she had been doing it for a while so she has it down pat!

Trying to convince myself to go up a day or 2 early or stay a day or 2 late!

Anyone flying from Atlanta (and who doesn't in the South, lol, even just passing through), we should meet and fly together if possible!
