Lori sent me the song book (thanks again, Lori!), and it reminded me that my chapter changed one of the "Always Alpha Gamma" lines, and I wanted to share it with you. We didn't like the "Whenever we walk by, people stop and stare" line, because it could be taken the wrong way (as in ack! what's wrong with her?), so we changed it to "Whenever you need someone, Alpha Gams will care." :)

This is great. Thanks Lori! I wish there was a way to get sound bites to give us the tune to some of these songs. I really would love to start an Alumnae Singing Round and then have that group go to the local college group to teach them the right way to sing some songs and teach them new songs also.

Maybe IHQ will be able to put MP3's of some of the songs on the new website when it's up. That would be really nice!

Getting an alumnae singing group together to teach the collegiate chapter is a really good idea. I know my chapter never sings the hymn correctly, and it really annoys our chapter advisor.

Song Book
 

I've been putting together an AGD song and poem book for a couple years now. I've collected them from all over - my college chapter, internet sites, the last international song book, etc. It has over 200 songs and poems in it now.

I plan on bringing a copy to convention and I can burn it on CDs for anyone who is interested and wants to get it there. It is pretty large, but I'd be willing to send copies out to email addresses, just send me a private message.

I'd like to keep updating it, so if I do send it to you and you come across additional songs, please let me know.

I would be willing to finance the job. Just let me know. I would like to compare notes and see if I have anything different to add to the collection!

And yes, roses and pearls, I'm a gamma phi. The book I have is on Microsoft word 2000. Do you want a CD or do you want me to email it to you? I don't think the chapter has this comprehensive list.
