Guess what? We were sending our Corp Treasurer but due to a few lousy-for-her scheduling conflicts she can't go now. Hopefully she can go to the next one for us, because she's never been to a Convention!

I'm booking my flight today in her place, so this Corp President will see y'all in Hotlanta! Any other Corp people going?

I don't know, I'm tempted by the "Taste of the Peach" one. I'd *really* like to do the shopping tour, but it's during the day. Heck, I'd be just as pleased to meet up with a bunch of you during the free time and spend the evening hanging out "in real life"!

I'd also love to go to The Varsity, I've seen it on the Food Network and it looks like a neat place. I wonder if it's anywhere close to the hotel?

What hotel are ya'll staying at? I live about 3 blocks from the Varsity.

Most people are staying at the host hotel which is nice. It was a real pain last time for those of us in the overflow hotel.

Mr. aopirose is coming so the "Gone with the Wind" speaker is out for us. I would like to do a Taste of the Peach. I can't remember what others from my chapter are doing. I have been to CNN and it is nice. When I went to Pi Kappa Phi's Atlanta convention, the spouses did the Buckhead tour with lunch at the Swan House. I think. Later, we all (500+) went to Stone Mountain for a BBQ dinner. We then boarded boats at dusk to see the laser light display from the lake. It was really pretty.

We're at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis (sp?).

The Marriott is downtown and the Varsity is in Midtown, but you could easily take Marta ($1.75 each way) it would probably take 5-10 minutes to get from point to point. Get off at North Ave when you get off you'll see a church The Varsity is on the other side of the church (so 1 block).

I'm at the Marriott! I wonder who my roommate is? I always ask for an adviser from the SEC. But who knows!

Anyway, so are ya'll going to any of the extra things?

I am thinking about the CNN (I've been there once but I want to go again).

DH says I should go to CNN. He's been on the daytime tour and thinks I will love the restaurant. He always tries to eat there when he's in Atlanta.

I still haven't decided, but I can be swayed :D

I saw it on the web site somewhere but I don't remember where. Try looking on the private side under convention and then look for the detailed agenda. There is also a write up in the booklet that comes with your registration confirmation. The actor Fred Crane (Brent Tarleton) is speaking on Friday night and is bringing his stuff. Seating is limited and you have to register by June 10 via events@alphaomicronpi.org. Mr. aopirose said that he would rather have a root canal.
