What would I buy
I would buy:
Living Single Different World Golden Girls |
I would buy....
Mama's Family
Night Court (only seasons 3 through 6--seasons 1 & 2 were kinda bland, and seasons 7 through 9 the show tanked after exec. producer Reinhold Weege left the series) Small Wonder Punky Brewster (only the NBC years--I didn't care for the syndicated years--1987-88) WKRP--Gotta see that "turkey drop" episode one more time. Police Squad--the 6 episode precursor to the Naked Gun movie trilogy was a timeless classic. Maude--if for no other reason than hearing Donny Hathaway sing the theme song; it was the bomb, rivaled "Movin' On Up" and "Good Times" for most remembered theme song. |
Silver Spoons
227 Different World Martin Cosby Show Good Times New York Undercover South Central (RBL, that was a good one!) The Golden Girls (fav' show!) |
I forgot one
Laverne and Shirley (BTW, will debut on Lifetime starting March 8th, but will come on while I am at work  ) |

One of my favorites is when Tommy Davidson is dressed in Hammer pants and dancing like Hammer on "Can't touch this" (I think that's the song). He gets all tangled up and ends up falling off the stage! First time I saw that I laughed 'til I cried! Don't know if this is from Season 1, but I might have to go get this DVD collection! *end hijack* |
OMG, I am all over the In Living Color one!
I have season 1 and 2 of Due South (it was on US TV for 1 season and then switched to Canadian Television). Season 3 is coming out next month. I also like The Simpsons (I have the first Season) I want to get Married With Children CSI (Vegas) Law and Order (I love ALL the Law and Order series) ER Soap |

I know this wasn't season one, but I liked the spoof they did about the Butt Out Jeans and Jamie Foxx was Prince, and he was singing, "I got a hole in my jeans!" Now every time they show the commericals for Prince's Musicology tour, Hubby and I laugh and start singing the Butt Out Jeans song. *end Hijack* |
1st 2 seasons of Dallas now available on DVD.
|
I'd like Living Color Season 2. My all time favorite episode was this season when Jim Carey was the evangelist:
He sang: "I heard him calling on the hill the other daaaaay, I heard him calling when I went up there to praaaaaay, and when I sung my Jesus really ran awaaaaaaay, he ran awaaaaaay!!" Man, this has got to be like the funniest one ever. I crack up everytime I think of him with that baby blue suit on and david alan greer on that organ!! |
My mom buys all the DVD Collections so often times I don't have to prchase them unless I want it for myself (ie. Dave Chapelle)...Anyway, we were watching this at her house and it is HILARIOUS! I love the Oprah Winfrey episode where she floated in the air and exploded! And the "Men on fil/Art/whatever"...Back when they had the original cast (w/ all of the Wayans fam) was the best.

You know, with all these sitcoms and other TV shows being released on DVD on an almost daily basis, Hubby and I are considering getting rid of cable and just buy a DVD set every month. That's all we're really watching anyway. Right now, we have the following shows on DVD:
Married With Children (The 2 Best of DVD's) 24 (Seasons 1 and 2) Chappelle's Show The Simpsons (Seasons 1-4) Jem (Seasons 1-3) In Living Color (Season 1, Season 2 is on the way) Family Guy SpongeBob Squarepants I mean, outside of the news, this is what we usually watch on a daily basis, esp. 24 b/c we can only manage 1-2 episodes a day. But I think that if we keep buying these DVD's then we just might give Charter the heave-ho. |
