I don't think Phi Mu has a rule against it, I've never seen a rule... damn I hope there isn't one cuz I'd be a lil screwed!

yeah yeah that's the show! I know it doesn't focus on greeks but it seems like everytime I come across the somebody greek is on there. thanks, I was wondering which show it was.

That just ain't right!!!

I think that it is just disgusting when people advertise their greek affiliation in a negative way. There is nothing wrong with being proud of what you are, but there is a line. They are just making themselves and their entire organization look bad. I am not sure about KD's rules on all of this, but I can tell you that we aren't even supposed to wear letters to a bar. Gee, I wonder what they would say about a dating show????

Tattoos

I checked it out in response to sugar and spices thread. Kappa Delta does not allowed to have the crest, badge, words, or greek letters KD tattooed on the body. So, we are one of those that doesn't allow it. Dani was right!!!

Haha, a guy from the AEPi chapter on my campus actually went on Dismissed...he was dismissed. I don't think he went on the one where he'd be paired against a brother though.

A girl in my chapter got called to be on Taildaters, but she said no. Another one of my girls tried out for American Idol, she didn't make it too far, but she wasn't insulted or anything (she has an amazing voice).

A Delta Gamma from ASU was on Dismissed. She was the dismisser. Shes one of my friends and when the guy got dismissed he yelled at her, i made fun of her about it...

they put my roomate (an sae) up against 2 roomates (a pi phi and an axo) and it turns out that the axo's big sis has a huge crush on my roomate and has told her that hes "off limiits" and she tells him that on the show. and my roomate says on dismmissed that its BS that she did that. it was pretty funny

i definitely saw the IU porn a month or two after i had left IU, and had joined AXO. i first saw her and said "are those greek letters?!" and later there was (unfortunately) a close up and i could see them clearly. needless to say, i was beyond shocked when i saw ms cox letters tattooed on her butt. my jaw dropped and i was walking around going "OMG. i cant believe shes a member of *sorority*!! the boyfriend (now ex) said "hey. shes got pride in her sorority" i just looked at him, and rolled my eyes. oy.

You saw my TV appearance?! :p ;)

Kidding of course! It never fails to amaze me that some people cannot wait to put on letters and make such an a$$ of themselves!!!

Still isn't as bad as Nicole promising to "dyke it out" with Brooke at semi-formal though!!

I don't know if anyone has answered this for you yet - but I'll let you in on some things. Trichelle from the Real World was a Chi Omega at my school. Her nationals forbid her for wearing any kind of letters on TV. Also, after her uhm, scandaless actions on the show - her pin got taken away.

I don't know if it is like that for all GLO, but I know one of the girls from the past Road Rules was a Kappa Kappa Gamma. She never displayed it on TV, but on her MTV profile, she mentioned about how tough her life was until she found her way into Kappa Kappa Gamma and became a sister.

I think for the most part, if you are on any kind of show that isn't viewed in the most professional light, you aren't supposed to flaunt your letters.

So does Alpha Delta Pi. In fact, if I remember correctly, one cannot legally use the name Alpha Delta Pi in any media without permission from EO. Must be the same concept of a lady appearing in print only upon birth, marriage, and death! ;)

I saw an ADPi on TLC's what not to wear. I almost choked on my drink when they said "To the ladies of ADPi: Please quit eating!"

I would NEVER wear my letters if I was going on a makeover show. She was wearing hers all over the place.

People on that show are surprised - they don't volunteer for it, their friends and family volunteer them. I'm sure she wouldn't have worn her letters if she had known, but how many of us quick throw on a set when we are out running errands, which is what they filmed her doing? I did think it was absolutely horrible how Wayne called ADPi "I ate a pie." If I were her, I would have handed him a pair of scissors.

greeks from ucsb

i am a FIJI at UCSB and one of my brothers was put up against a Sigma Nu also from UCSB. It was pretty cool although the FIJI was dismissed (i guess he wasn't raunchy enough). MTV finds many of their contestants from the Santa Barbara area. Yesterday they approached my fraternity looking for guys to compete in a show that sends a lucky guy out with a female pop star.

They can sue her for being trashy? I wonder how that court trial is going to end up - I don't see how the org. could win it.

Unless she signed something that says "I will not be a porn star," - I don't know how sueing her could even be considered by a judge?
