Here are my comments about the whole BIRD storyline: She was SELFISH. I mean, okay, yeah pregnancy was unplanned, but homie you have a husband who LOVES the shit out of you. You are straight selfish to have ABORTED that baby. If Mama Joe were alive, she would beat dat azz. Bird is too immature and this really made me look at her in a whole new light.

Her reasoning for aborting was BULL!! I commend Lem for being a daddy in this situation. I felt so bad for him. I love him as a character on this show. Too bad, his wife did not realize that they were in it together.

Terri and the panic attacks/dreams: I am glad she valued her health and sanity to say no to teaching at her alma mater.

Oh and if Damon don’t come on and get her a ring – WTF is up with that.

I think Ms. Bird was a wee bit selfish. I'm a little shocked b/c I didn't think she was gonna go thru w/it. I'm shaking my head. I feel bad for Lem.

Good for Ahmad for breaking up w/Keisha, although it prolly won't last. She's too young to be that insecure & controlling.


Terri was funny as superchick & it was good to see Damon not drunk.

Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locamotive, able to keep ole'ladies from being mugged........it's a bird, it's a plane it's SUPER CHICK!!! That scene had me LMAO:D :D .

Bird and Lem's scene towards the very end of the show was soooo special it was tear jerking. The whole issue is a controversial one that is a hard nut to crack, so I can't really get into that one.

I think maybe Terry should either start her own practice or see if she can get on with the college as a full time professor. She is doing too much and I don't know if it is because she feels she has to or it won't be good enough if she doesn't have a hand in something. She really needs to slow down. PLUS, she done had 25 dreams about wedding rings AND still does not have one on her fanga!

I got kind of nervous because when Damon said he wanted to talk to her, I thought he was going to break up with her. And NOTICE she was to'up at Lems party, but he wasn't or maybe he was a lil "nice", but not as drunk as he normally gets.

I am glad that SOUL FOOD cast and poduction are tackling critical issues in the BLACK community: abortion and alcholism but why couldn't the abortion have been a FRIEND of the family.

This storyline has people (not all, but definitely ME) disappointed in Bird. In my eyes, it would be one thing had this pregnancy occurred because MICHAEL raped her, but she has a HUSBAND saying BABY I LOVE YOU and I am HERE. I am LEGIT for the love of you. She killed the part of him that pushes him to keep trying no matter what.

You are right, I can understand where you are coming from. Coming from a writers (by hobby) perspective, I can see where this is going to push her over to the other controversial part of the show when she and Denise(or whatever the name of Terry Vaughns character) share that kiss. But CT4 you have more inside info than I do, so I am just kinda sorta speculating. I don't think Lem is going to be ok with this........No matter how tender the moment was at the end of last nights show, this is definitely not over. The only one who seemed ok with the whole thing was Terry. I was sure Terry would have been like Max was on the issue.

I know I maybe playing devil's advocate by saying this, but she knew how Lem was going to be about this........the clinics have confidentiality laws they must adhere to. Maybe she should have kept the whole thing to herself (not even telling her sisters) and just went on ahead and just did it. BUT, I think I can see why it was done this way...........:(

Oh I onky saw eps # 1 & 2 so now I am in the dark as well. Yeah I see that this will definitely STRAIN their marriage and push her to be with EVA (LOL @ Denise) which will PISS TERRI off!!

The abortion thing is a sticky issue for me. Bird had selfish motives for aborting the baby. I agree with you Gyrl7 -- you should have not told Lem or your sisters in the first place. Unexpected pregnancies happen all the time. Our women folk been birthing babies for centuries under some very tight circumstances, what made Bird so different? NADA DAYUM THING, IMO.
