Okay, why is everything I want this year in P&G? I feel like a traitor!!:o Someone needs to make royal blue and gold into spring colors!! :D I just bought this cute lil Ralph Lauren straw tote with pink and green in it and I must have more stuff to go with it!!! I pretty much want everything too--I'm not too picky.:p This year, I decided to be "cute" by trying to get away from black and wearing more skirts and dresses, so my wishlist is whatever falls into those categories!! I wouldn't mind some lipo either!! |
Okay...I found something I want. The new Reef dragonfly sandals...I really need new dressy stuff for graduation, though. I think I found something on Lilly Pulitzer, but it might be too WASPy.

Hey Steeltrap, we were in Off Saks Fifth Ave in Concord Mills Mall this weekend and CT4 saw some sandals that were SOOO you! I said it is amazing how you can not know someone but completely 'get' their style! They were green but had a pink instep (or whatever you call the 'inside' part of a shoe/sandal).

Dreams can come true. . .
"If I had $8K lying around, I'd get this Hermes Birkin bag in lovely Thalasso blue."
This is for you Steeltrap--you know we could be shopping buddies!!! The Hermes stores in NY and LA (I think it's LA) each have yearly sales. NY is in March and Cali is in the winter sometime. If you're willing to camp out, you can get a Birkin or Kelly for less than 1G. They also have scarves, which I love! I've contemplated going to the NY sale for the last two years, but God must be trying to tell me something, because it has never worked out schedule-wise. Since Hermes NEVER goes out of style you don't have to worry about last season's styles, etc. |

I'm finding myself more and more interested in those "pieces" that are classics and never go out of style. I'd rather invest in that and leave the trendy stuff to Target (tar-jay) and Payless. what other brands/designers do you think never go out of style? Has anyone picked up those style advice books and gotten anything useful from them? |

But as far as brands that don't go out of style--you could always do the Preppie specials like Bass and Brooks Brothers. Chanel is good for suits, and Liz Claiborne and Talbots are pretty timeless, but the look is very mature if you're just in your 20s. Best of luck! |

Then again, I think Gap, Banana Republic and J. Crew are timeless neat looks for a person in her 20s. I just happen to think that you will be taken more seriously, especially in the workplace, if you cover up. You should see some of the women who work in my office building. :) |
Re: Re: Re: Dreams can come true. . .
I am basically like everyone else in here as well. I will spend money of classic, timeless pieces and just a few dollars toward the trends (since they will be gone within a few months).
I do try to incorporate trends into my daily work wardrobe though. Like today, although I'm wearing a navy pantsuit, with a 70's peasant-print blouse underneath (I did cut the droopy sleeves off because that was just tooo much fabric underneath my jacket so it is not short-sleeved.). I would like think that I look cute, but professional. :D But I work in the finance dept. of a hospital though. |
i agree!
Timeless pieces are the only things work all the money.. lately i've been really into the vintage marc jacobs and yves st. laurent looks... but when it comes to trends, places like forever 21 will do for sure. And I agree with Jaggergirl... payless acutally does have some really trendy, cute spring sandals and stuff.. and I know i'm not blowing a whole lot of money on something that'll be out of style before I blink.
