In 'Living' memory

Comic Robert Schimmel was a writer in 1990 for "In Living Color," the hilarious show that starred the Wayans brothers, Jim Carrey, and Jennifer Lopez as a Fly Girl dancer. Schimmel wasn't laughing, though, when he recently ran into J.Lo.

He revealed the humbling encounter on WHFS' morning "Junkies" radio show in Washington, D.C., last week. "The writers used to eat with the dancers and the crew every day," said Schimmel. "Lunch and dinner for, like, a year. So I used to eat with Jennifer Lopez every night. And we'd crack jokes together, I mean all the writers and her and the girls.

"So I see her in a restaurant in L.A. and I said, 'Hey Jennifer, how ya doin'?' And she said, 'Who are you?'

"I said, 'Robert Schimmel,'" the comic recounted. "And she said, 'Do I know you?'

"I said, 'Do you know me?! You ate, like, lunch and dinner with me for a year during 'In Living Color.'" And she said, "I don't remember anybody from 'In Living Color.'"

Schimmel, not to be dissed or dismissed, replied: "Well, I'd get a checkup if I were you, because that wasn't too long ago, and if you can't remember that it could be the beginning of Alzheimer's disease."

A pal of Lopez tells us she is still friends with Keenen Ivory Wayans and some of her fellow dancers.

I mean, she really needs to get over herself. I am SO over her. Tired of her!!!

Ralph Sampson is a former University of Virginia star centre who stands 7-feet-4 inches tall. He played in the NBA for only nine years, mainly for the Houston Rockets, and was injury-prone.

Sampson and Hakeem Olajuwon often played in a Twin Tower setup.

Is it just me?
 

Did anyone know that Troy Garity (white guy from Barbershop) is Jane Fonda's son? I don't know why, but I thought that was interesting.

Troy O'Donovan Garity Hayden is Jane's son with noted 1960s activist Tom Hayden, who Jane was married to before she became a power aerobics entrepreneur and hooked up w/Ted Turner. Back in the days, Jane F. was rather reviled, not only for her alleged Communist sympathies (Hanoi Jane), but for marrying Hayden, who later served for a long time in the California legislature.

I was at the American Airlines Arena yesterday watching the Heat vs. Timberwolves. Why did I see some white chick hugged up on Mystikal :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: ?

I may be wrong, but isn't this guy married? :confused: By the way, I did see Mandy Moore with some tennis guy. She is really nice.

R&B singer Monica had her "eyez" on Missy Elliott, DMX, Tyrese and Faith Evans as she entered the studio recently to complete work on her long-awaited third album, which drops June 10.

Parts of the record came out in Japan last year with the title All Eyez on Me, but by the time it was being scheduled for American release, it was widely available through Internet file-sharing services and bootleg outlets. As a result, Monica's label asked her to substantially reconstruct the record with a host of guest stars.

Four new songs on the LP were produced by Missy Elliott, including "Best Friends" and the first single, "So Gone," which is currently heating up radio. A video for the song will be shot in Miami on Tuesday and Wednesday, and will be directed by Chris Robinson, who has worked with Snoop Dogg, P. Diddy, Jay-Z and a host of others.

Missy Elliott will guest-star in the clip, which will depict Monica getting arrested and will feature a surprise ending, said a J Records spokesperson.

The DMX track will be called "Ain't Gotta Go," and the Tyrese song, which was recorded last weekend, is still untitled. Originally Mya was going to lend her voice to a track, but she will probably be replaced by Evans, said the spokesperson.

The as-yet-untitled record was recorded in studios in Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York and additional producers include Dallas Austin and Jermaine Dupri.

Monica is my girl and all, but is this the SAME CD with that PYT song and video?

Do you all actually believe it's because of downloads and bootleggers that she was to "update" if you will the CD? Or is it because that PYT single kind of flopped?
