This was REALLY interesting, since both of my parents were raised in the Catholic church. My mother was VERY STRICT, my dad on the other hand was more or less forced to go to church and as a teen his family became Methodist, and I was eventually raised in a BAPTIST church....

I was raised in a Reconstructionist synagogue, but usually attend a reform or conservative temple now...I do not like Reform Judaism, but it is the only temple in Topeka.
