I hate wimpy, whiped men.

On the real the ONLY acceptable definition in my book is a female dog. Whether you like it or not. If that answer is not good enough for you then I think you have some personal issues. As Kiara so eloquently put it the term in its' derogatory sense does not only apply to women. So let that shyt go!

It seems like most responses are alluding to men calling a woman a bitch, but what about women calling each other bitches? What then is meant? Does it take on another meaning? Is it less bothersome, or cruel? What about when friends call each other that in joking...."....Bitch please..." Or, is it like the whole "nigga" thing were it's more excepted if a woman calls another woman it, but it's disrespect when a man does? Somebody holla back!!

I think that....

You're right, #2 Cool Breeze. I think that "bitch" is to women as "n!gg@" is to men. Most of the time, "bitch" is a term of endearment in the presence of friends, but in the presence of enemies, it's not. For guys, I think that "n!gg@" is a term of endearment most of the time also. I don't remember a time when it wasn't.

The other day I was listening to the radio and they were discussing the use of "the n word". I heard a really interesting point that I think applies to bitch too, but maybe has been more fully realized because it doesn't have the same historical impact as nigga.

One of the callers on the show proposed that we have reached a point in this society where for a number of black people, whether we prosper or fail is up to us. There is NO word out there that can bring us down. You can call me a nigga or a bitch all day and at the end I am still going to do what I have to do. It only has power over you if you let it.

I have been thinking about that since I heard it. I am still not comfortable hearing that word. Am I giving it undue power in allowing it to make me feel uneasy?

I think many women have overcome that with the word bitch. That term has become fairly popular as another way of saying that you are a strong woman.

Hello Everyone,

Okay, I will make this very simple. If thats what a person wants to call me because he/she can't handle my personality, strength, and/or determination, then in the words of Redman "I'll be dat!!!!"

Girl, I feel that same way. At first it hurt my feelings, when people would call me a Bitch. Once I realized that they were saying it only because i'm don't follow the crowd. I'm my own person. I don't need anyone else thinking for me. Really people have been saying it so long it doesn't bother me anymore.

When I try to be nice to people, they try to run over me. Then, the ugly got to come out. :p
