actual temp is about 5 degrees, but someone this morning told me that with the wind chill it's -7. It's been like this for over a week now.

Cali is so nice :) High of 58. Low of 49.
Cold for me is like low 30's, break out the sweater, jacket, and gloves or just stay inside with a nice fire :)

On the weather report last night, instead of "cloudy with a chance of snow" or "partly sunny," the report listed yesterday's weather as "cold, so cold." My friends and I couldn't stop laughing over that one. Of course it's true when the temperature hasn't risen above 0 in the past three or four days, but still . . .

aephi alum 01-23-2003 07:45 PM

Right now it is 11 degrees out, going down to 0 degrees overnight. With the wind chill it's -10.

There was no heat in my office today!! Apparently the oil pipes froze. All day, everyone was walking around wrapped up in their scarves and, in some cases, coats. If that wasn't bad enough, I sit near the door = nice blast of cold air every few minutes :(

That is EXACTLY what I was going to say!

I'm really wondering why in the hell so many people live in Chicago. In the winter, the weather is horrible. In the summer, the weather is horrible.

Oregon coast, here I come. I hope.

Optimist Prime 01-23-2003 08:39 PM

-25 wtf?

Optimist Prime 01-23-2003 08:40 PM

I think the washer fluid in my truck froze. What should I do?

CanadianTeke 01-23-2003 08:58 PM

Remove the resevoir that has the frozen fluid in it, and bring it inside (put it in the sink). Let it defrost and drain. Park the car in a heated garage and let the hoses defrost. If this isn't a possibility, it may require you remove the hoses as well and bring them inside. Hopefully the expanding ice hasn't cracked them. this should solve your problem. If this isn't a possibility, you cantry(thogh it's really not reccomended) using boiling water to flush the system---pour it through, but make sure you drain all the water out before it freezes again. Hopefully this helps.

Somehow i feel like the ONLY GC-er that actually is LOVING this biting cold...i'm up in MA w/ KappaTarzan and totally enjoying the wind chill in the negatives!
I'm one of those psychos that absolutely LOATHES the summer and heat...

*now i'm expectantly waiting for the strange looks from the rest of you....* hahaha

DeltAlum 01-23-2003 10:08 PM

It's been warmer in Denver than Miami a few days recently. We're having an unusually warm winter.

I'm with you on that one. It's unfortunate, because I don't like extreme heat or extreme cold. On balance, I'd rather have cold, but this cold is just way too cold.

In my ideal world, it would never go below 30 degrees, and never above 80.

haha- i'd change that 80 to a 70 though :)

swissmiss04 01-24-2003 12:50 AM

Our assets are frozen! It's Alabama! Damn we're supposed to have pretty ideal weather, and instead we have this single digit insanity w/ negative wind chills. This crap is for the birds I'm moving to Hawaii. OTW save a place for all of us poor freezing people

juniorgrrl 01-24-2003 01:48 AM

Its ass cold here.

This is New Orleans, its not supposed to get this cold. It's 27 right now and its feels like 16, so says weather.com

It's supposed to get up to 40 in Baton Rouge tomorrow.

The high this time last year was 81. I miss last year :p

I'm happy when its 95. I can take hot weather. Cold weather sucks.

Peaches-n-Cream 01-24-2003 02:23 AM

I wish that it were 27 degrees here. :) It is 10 degrees, and it feels like it is below zero with the wind chill. It is supposed to be like this for the next few days.
